Thats on the list for sure. maybe some carbon fairings and frame sliders.

5 month old post and you may have addressed already...but just in case you haven't, check your chain links.

 

I bought this bike in January and have barely gotten to ride it because of snow. Spring is right around the corner and i am so excited. While I wait, I'm just adding little mods here and there to hold me over. 2023 R1 and looking for more tasteful mod ideas...this bike will eventually be tracked, but not for awhile:
-ECU flash
-3/4 Akro titanium exhaust
-gold CRG levers, shorty brake
-carbon tank protector
-New Rage fender elminator

If you’re going to be tracking it I’d
upgrade the brakes, Yamaha looks like they cheated out and used the same brake calipers they’ve been using for years . They look like what my 2013 has.

 

Engine covers. (most important)
Spools
Tank grips (for the track)
Adjustable rearsets
The stock brakes are good.
You can get better brake pads
And if you want you can upgrade the master cylinder. (Not needed though)

You should get some clip-ons before going to the track.

 

I’ve been reading about pads as an upgrade. Which set do you recommend, and does Motul 600 help at all. I’ve only got 700 miles on mine. At 1st I thought the brakes were fine, then I started to feel it. The initial bite is a bit weak followed by a slightly spongy lever.

 

which flash tune did you go with?

 

EDR in portland. although my quickshifter hasn't felt the same since the flash...

 

Always use Yamalube and keep all records of oil changes. That motor will be warranted for life!

 

That is basically what I did to mine, carbon accents! I got them from RPM carbon as nobody had fullsix pieces in stock. RPM fit well, only needed to make one clip hole bigger and the clear coat needed a paint correction because of swirls. Here’s what I did for some reference! love the blue btw!

how long did you have to wait for your AR exhaust? mine is still in limbo..

 

The next bike I get is getting full Öhlins before any other mod.

 

Vesrah brake pads.

 

Vesrah pads are very good. I've heard really good things about the Brembo pads. But I haven't tried them yet. The SBS dual carbon pads(these are track only) are good for a budget.

JL Fender eliminator with integrated tail, light and blinkers tucked up on the two wings of the sun frame
Graves o2 block off plates
Stop grip icon design tank pads
GB racing case covers
Gilles tooling sprocket cover
Evoltech radiator and oil cooler guards.
Next will be attack rearsets
And ether a Penske 8987 shock or Olin’s ttx
And GP suspension fork cartridge inserts.
