My motorcycle was just stolen... probably sometime last night 2-4am-ish. The bikelock is in 1000 pieces on the ground in my parking spot. I didn't have insurance.. the bike wasn't even registered yet. OMG. 98% of my net worth.. gone. And the only thing that made me happy.

PLEASEEEEEE..

If you see any of these fairings or whatnot on ebay, or..

If anyone in the Seattle area sees a RED '99 R1 with micron/dunlop/fogcity/pitbull and a few other stickers, flushmount amber front turn sugnals, full akrapovic titanium exhuast, rear seat but NO rear pegs... check the plates please. MY WA PLATE #'s == 621033. The front fender hugger was cracked, and had a hemi-sphere cut out of it where i backed the bike up w/ a disc-lock on it.. if you see a bike with any of these features.. the cracked frotn hugger, rear seat but NO rear pegs, etc.. PLEASE CALL 911..

Sorry to hear about your loss. My bike was stolen 2 weeks ago, Rated R's stolen one week ago. This is getting ridiculous. What is happening to all these bikes?

You can bet I'll keep an eye out for your ride. If I catch the punks, I'll throw in a complimentary ass-whupping. No reward needed.

That sucks Adam, like No_6 said we have also had our bikes stolen in the last couple weeks. I'm beginning to suspect that these guys are combing through apartment complexes looking for easy targets (just a theory). I know what your bike looks like and I'll keep an eye out for it. Check out No_6's recent threads as well as mine for more details on our losses.

f$*&%ing hell. oh man.. i'm @ my parents now, so i'll check those threads when i get home tonight RatedR.. this sucks so much. man.. i'm out so much money, and i work part-time, so i don't make a ton of dough.

only upside i guess, maybe if you can call it an upside, once my lease runs up in 2 months, i'm gonna move to somewhere cheaper, and maybe once the winter is over i can afford an '02/03 R1 if i get a loan or something.. i guess it's good i didn't have a loan for my bike, and i at least owned it free and clear.. except, if i'd had a loan then i'd at least have insurance.

i can't describe how i feel right now. this is the worst moment of my life.

Ok I am going to try and not sound like a dick here...and I am really sorry that your bike was stolen...but why the **** did you NOT have insurance????? That totally escapes me....especially if you parked it outside???? Hopefully you will maybe find it somewhere like I heard in a different thread...good luck to you man.

:(
Sorry to hear that. I can only imagine the rage you're feeling. I had two car stereos ripped off before I started using an alarm system, and I was totally pissed. I'll be on the lookout for ya (and I copied your poster and e-mailed it out to some buddies around the US). Good luck. Hope we find 'em before the cops do. :machinegu

insurance isnt requiered in all states get off his ass,i dont have either of my 2 bikes insured.even if it was required who cares,he is saving you money by not filing a claim
so basically what you are saying is....here steal my bike....I don't need compensation for it...I'll keep dumping loads of money into the bike and lose it all if it is stolen. Doesn't make sense to me. Insurance has it's good points and bad points....but in this case I would think it would have helped him. Anyway....again sorry to hear about the bike.

Dude.. I have a same one and I am constantly looking for parts on Ebay, especially plastics and there is not many of them for this year and color, so we might get lucky.

As for insurance, I don't have full coverage either. All I have is liability since full coverage was over 7K per year for me. (I have bad driving record). I also don't have a loan since I paid cash for it.

I will keep my eyes open on ebay bro..

sorry to hear that. :(

Holly Shit, all of this about bikes getting stolen. My 2001 Honda 929 was stolen just one month ago. I just cashed my insurance check. What the hell is going on here. I have read about 4 or more bikes stolen just this last week. I say we all go hunting for these bastards. They are very ballsy to actualy steal bikes, let alone break into my house and steal mine right from my very own garage. :bash

02R1Phreak and Maxxxym.. thanks, i appreciate it. I still have a *small* amount of hope someone who knows it might see it around.

Gixxerman, the bike wasn't insured because 1: my previous bike wasn't insured (thus i would have to get a policy) 2: i couldn't insure the bike untill i legally own it.

the bike wasn't even registered yet.. i'd had the title less than 3 weeks. i was planning to insure it next week after registering it, despite the fact that i was broke as hell. now i'm not only broke as hell, but have no transportation. i'm looking for a second job as we speak..

and as for it being outside.. well, you wanna volunteer to rent me a storage space, bucko??.. my apartment has a waiting list for covered garages, so unless i float the bike up to the 3rd floor where i live, or i buy a storage place at the u-store-it place down on 228th and walk home every night..

yes, my next bike will have full insurance, and an alarm before i ever even ride it. lesson learned.. a very expensive lesson

Do you guys in seattle have any amature bike racing. The reason I ask is because I heard a rumor that alot of stolen bikes are used as track bikes because you dont have to register them. If you have some free time go out to the races some weekend and they usually let anyone walk around the pits.

I'll keep my eyes out

I'm in Bellingham so I'll be your eyes in the north. In my years here, I haven't seen a red R1 in this town so a red '99 will stick out here.

PS: I don't have insurance either. We can't all be wealthy and middle-aged riding mid-life crises. My 600cc (with a clean record) is outrageous to insure... $4,000+ at some companies. That's almost the value of the bike per year. Students, like me, will do as we've always done... make do.

archite.. thanks.

a while ago.. probly around 8 months, i was on my old '99 blue and white gixxer 600 with matching teknic leathers, riding into bellingham to see my (EX!!) girlfriend.. in the tail end of the winter, freezin my arse off, and right as i got to the exit, two guys on identical red and white/grey F4i's pulled up next to me, and road up towards the college w/ me.

wondering if maybe one of those guys was you? one said something about riding a lot of moto-cross, and was pulling some decent 1st gear wheelies. anyway, just curious, figure there can't be *THAT* many F4's in the town either, lol.

Damn..wut the hellz goin on in seattle? there must be a motorcycle chop shop somewhere there...i bet these bikes are totally in pieces by now sold or used for extra parts...u guys need to catch these bastards! pronto! i live in California in a condominium with a car port and i dont keep my bike here...its safely garaged at all times..i dont trust nobody! chains, alarms, covers, locks, none of that shi7 works the best thing is to conceal it! that way it cant be scoped out by these bastards! i suggest leaving it at a freinds place or rent out a storage space...thats the best defense against unwanted tampering/robbing.....well hope u guys catchem or get new bikes! GOODLUCK!
