Hi friends, I want to buy a full exhaust system for my 99 Yamaha R1, need some good advise. Which one is the best for the bike ?
1. M4
2. MHP
3. Akrapovic
4. Yoshimura

I already have following mods made:
1. K&N air filter
2. Ivan jet kit(only needles use with stock main jets)
3. 4 degree ignition advancer
4. Sr3 barnett clutch conversion kit(oem plates)
5. Ivan air box modification
6. Undercut & backcut on all gears
7. Iridium spark plugs
And soon 59mm velocity stacks.
The SS full exhaust is comparable to which one ? How much does it weight less ?
What's the price for a complete SS System ?
Thanks

I already have the bigger jets from Ivan which are mean to be use with full akrapovic system.
Here is question to which I haven't get any ideas. Putting a full exhaust systems=removing the exup valve ! Will there some performance lost on certain part of the power band even if the bike is well jetted and the carbs well balanced ?
Thanks

I had a Graves full titanium exhaust system on my 99 and loved it.:boobies

your question is subjective anyway. you can't even buy most of those systems anymore anyway.
if you use ivans needles you need a 4-1 system not 4-2-1.
and there is other mods not matching with your bike.
this has all been discussed a 1000 times on this very forum before anyway.....

Hello mate, You were right.. I went into the motor, but I didn't make great mods, only intake and exhaust porting & polishing and valves seats and put a thinner race gasket, new standard piston rings...standard gears front and -1 at the rear, no speedometer calibrator : 298km/hr and I think there was a little more, but roads here on the island are short :(
Cheers

I also have the 2nd gear issue. I sent my gears together with the two axles to MT Performance and have them undercut and back-cut all the gears while the engine was down, also bought 3 new shift forks. After reassembling the engine, I re-jetted & synchronized the carbs. I have full Akra on it, K&N air-filter, 50mm Velocity stacks, I've Ivan Jet kit on it & air airbox modification and flo-commander on both pilot & main air jets(But these doesn't make great difference). If your bike is well jetted and well synchronized the low end will surely be very strong and the rest of your power curve too.
