Kind of......

What I have done changes the fueling over the full rev range i.e. it's the same mix for 4k as 11k
With a PC you can change it for say every rev to get he power curve nice and smooth. Hope that helps.

I'm going to try this on my 03 R6. Does anyone have any idea which wire it would be on the 6?

BTW I'm very impressed by the amount of work that went into this, and the dedication of the members to provide this info.

I am reading out of the 2004 sevice manual and they are talking about adjusting the exhaust gas volume for this procedure.

I have read through the thread and am still waiting for more info as it comes available...how come the manual doesn't go into this more?

I was trying to get it to switch over to "co" and it wouldn't ...now I know why...the FORUM rocks!

same as the 03 r1 y/r

freezincold - you need to follow the Grounding the 1 ECU line for your bike before you can enter the Diag mode for the ECU to change the CO settings, but THE PCIII is still a better solution I rode the bike for 3 months with the CO modified and the throttle was a bit jumpy in response, but with the PCIII you feel more power and much better response than stock.

grounded

i'm kind of a puss when it comes to fooling with my bikes engine stats so i'm getting a power commander. but as for grounding the wires; strip a small section in the center, fold it, place a wire crimp on it, on the other end of the wire crip place a small wire, strip the end of that wire. now if you add a good air filter or stacks or anything to your bike and you want to adjust your air/fuel mix, just pull off the tape and you're set to go.
good luck guys.

In some cases it's good to lower 1 or 2 points the STD settings

In some cases it's good to lower 1 or 2 points the STD settings...

Someone has tried lowering this settings?

A my friend with slip-on, without a race air filter has more power lowering this settings...

new information

Originally I was under the impression that C1 was cylinder 1, C2 was cylinder 2 and so on; and the reason for the different numbers was due to a staggered pattern often seen in many carbureted bikes. Thanks to a little Yamaha PDF which R6cook was kind enough to send me, we now have the correct information to C1, C2, C3, C4 settings.

the wire are the 27 at the CPU just ground it.

Fuel injection amount can be adjusted in the following four ranges:

Code C1: Fuel amount injected at 25% or less of throttle opening and at 3000 rpm or less of engine speed
Code C2: Fuel amount injected at 25% or less of throttle opening and at 3000 rpm or more of engine speed
Code C3: Fuel amount injected at 25% to 90% of throttle opening
Code C4: Fuel amount injected at 90% or more of throttle opening

Before changing the settings, check the engine for its characteristics in normal condition. It is recommended that the settings be checked with an A/F measuring instrument.

azazel,

That's interesting. Now, if we could just have some positive proof that this information applies to the stock '02-'03 R1, as opposed to the '04, which I am told has some adjustability features, or to the Yamaha racing CPU, available on their web site.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just wondering to which CPU your info applies.

after play with different settings I have, runs smooth and the backfire disappear

C1+2
C2+2
C3+3
C4+3

Vstacks
K&N filter
ram air box mod.
yoshimura slip-on

that works on 2002 - 2003, I really don't now on 04, but it's easy to know, do the whole procedure and you will know after you turn on your switch and see if the diag appear.

I didn't mean grounding the wire and getting into the dialog box. I meant is your understanding of what "C1, C2, C3, C4" means correct and, furthermore, is it correct for the '02-'03 R1 CPU.

You see, the "C" either means "cylinder" or it means what you have said it means. This is the old question that we have been batting about since Page 1 of this Topic.

Thanks.

I read that on the R6 workshop manual, and apply exact the same for R1 02-03 and R6 02-04, you dont have to cut it, just snip and ground the yellow/red, you don't have to cut like other say, I just do it, I will post exact what I do for better undertanding.
