At times, advice isn't as well received as being instructed. I think it might be a different state of mind and how one receives both.

 

Advice you get for free, instruction you pay for.

 

"Advice" suggests to do something. "Instruction" tells you what to do. Advice is typically one person's perspective. Instruction is typically based on accumulated knowledge, the "tried and true."

"You get what you pay for" is one way of putting it.

 

People ask for advice but don't take it; people pay for instructions and learn! :riding

 

So it sounds like advice could come from anywhere and anyone and it isn't necessarily explained further whereas instruction usually comes from someone who would be considered an expert and involves the how and why?
