AGV Corsa Winter Test LE Helmet Problems

Just thought I would share my experience with the new AGV helmet. I work for a huge dealership and we sell Arai and Shoei in the showroom. A friend of mine is our Parts Unlimited rep and sells AGV, so I thought I would try something different than an Arai for once........HUGE mistake. I ordered the Winter Test LE Corsa #585, pull it out and it is beautiful.....until I look inside....Plastic Pins on Cheek Pads are broken. I contact AGV and speak with a really cool guy, he acknowledges the issue and states they have had a lot of them with this issue. To my surprise he sends me some new pins like it's no big deal....Then when I get them the receivers pull out of the EPS liner. He then says this is a big problem too, so I ask what the fix is....This is when all faith is lost in AGV, he says there isn't one yet. So for a $899.99 helmet that has been out for 8 months the R&D department has done nothing to fix this issue. This problem affects almost 400 helmets that they know of and they have done nothing to fix my problem. The solution was to order a new one...Well I get in the second one which is #686 and it is broken far worse than the first one. At this point I decided to refund both and buy a new Arai. Not trying to bash AGV, but their warranty/R&D department is horrible. If this were a paying customer off the street, they would not have been nearly this patient. A month and still no solution and not even a return authorization yet.

of course you are. :facts

op sorry to hear about your problem, I've always liked the piste and gp helmets they look great, but for the money i would hope they held up better :(

Really sorry to hear that.

I've had my Corsa for a couple months and so far it's been a pretty good experience. My biggest issue so far was the shield locking mechanism fell apart when I was changing the visor out literally 5 minutes after taking the helmet out of the box. I was able to put it back together, but, like you, I had higher expectations for a helmet in that price range.

My impressions of the Corsa as a whole are that it is an excellent design that could have been made better. I'm still pretty pleased overall, but I'll be interested to see what the long term durability looks like.

Agreed. Over many years I've had many helmets and Shoei was my helmet of choice until I got an AGV TiTech. I loved it and have since bought 2 AGV GP Techs and most recently the Corsa SoleLuna. The Corsa is the BEST helmet I've ever owned. Fit, finish, graphics, interior all top notch
I'm sorry to hear about your issue OP I hope it all gets sorted out and they do the right thing to take care of all that are affected.

It is an excellent shell design and is super quiet and very comfortable, but the quality just isn't up to Arai's standards. I have 3 Arai's and have not had a single problem with any of them. I wanted to get outside of the box, but it didn't work out for me at all. I was getting bored of the same Arai helmets over and over, but you don't mess with success.

Couldn't agree more in regards to the Blandness of the Arai line ups. I almost jumped ship in december but after trying on the Shoei x12 i realized why Arai was for me. I'm on my 4th Arai now and am 99.9% happy, id be 100 if they had some new graphics.

Sucks to hear about the AGV though, That helmet shape is sick!

I have owned Arai Shoei and just purchased an AGV Grid on close out to replace my current Shoei. I was disappointed that my Shoei was always fogging on trackdays even using anti-fog cloth. I just used my AGv this past weekend during a rainy trackday and it was flawless. Very lightweight great airflow I am pleased with my upgrade.

However, minutes after unboxing I switched visors, and got the red quick release stuck and thought I broke it! I got lucky that helmet was close to DOA. I learned I have to be careful with the quick releases. I am like a bull in a china shop, so gentle plastics and I do. Not go well!
