That makes three right? God that's scary stuff. Glad to hear that it was just a broken foot, imagine if it had snapped mid corner. Yamaha needs to get on this problem pretty much right f'ing now.

that is crazy...guess I wont be doing anymore stand-up wheelies until I get some rearsets. I can understand trying to keep weight low...but I'd gladly accept and extra 1lb of weight for more durable pegs.
It's definitely a fracture plane that was created by the design of the rearset.

OE rearsets have broken on other years too.

WTF Yamaha....!
ridiculous.

Its not an 07 issue IMO, its Yamaha making shit cast rearsets.

heal quick bro, and glad you didnt go down...

Dude stop talking and seek legal advice!!
Don't tell anyone how fast you were really going, and don't make any more aftermarket changes to your bike.

P.S. Just send me a 5% referral fee. :thumbup

im about to head to the yamaha shop, btw when i looked at the rearset, the bottom bolt was so loose i could take it out with my fingers, the rearset had dropped so far that it made scratches on my swingarm, ill take pictures when i can hobble my ass into the garage...im guessing my toes hit the ground on the highway..thats how i broke them...because the tip of 1 toe is broke

wow sucks about the peg, but glad you didnt go down...

I am still trying to imagine how this happened. You're riding along on the highway and then the footrest hanger breaks and your foot hit the ground?:whtfu: I can't imagine my foot falling off the peg and me not catching it while just sitting there riding down the I-way. Unless you were doing a stand up with all your weight on it and it gave way...:corn Glad you were'nt hurt badly.

Something a bit fishy here though.

Has your bike ever tipped over on that side? Causing a hairline fracture that got worse from metal fatigue?

my bike has never tipped over...ive never dropped it, i usually ride with my foot tilted down between the peg and rear brake because riding with it on the brake hurts my ankle...anyways i think it was close to the ground to begin with and with that inch or so drop i think my toes hit the ground...my foot went flying up after i felt it hit something...whole foot went numb....

First of all, DON'T RIDE THIS WAY!!!! Jeez. Sportbiking 101.

Sounds like your toes caught the pavement and dragged your leg into your peg, causing it to break (both your foot and the peg).

You never stated if you're doing standup wheelies or not either. Additionally, if you're a hefty guy, well, you know.
