just wondering, i have an 02 it feels too small for me im 6'1 and feel like a giant on it theres no wind protection and my voltage regulator and stator just cost me a fortune. i do love the throttle response though. any hateres here?

I'm six foot. My '02 was comfortable but lacked wind protection. Purchase a Double Bubble windscreen and you'll be much happier. However, I don't miss the riding position, or lack of turning ability and cornering ability. My '04 shines in all of those departments.

 

I'm 6'8" and it is a little tight while trying to shift in full tuck but other than that I love my 03. GP shifting helps tremendously!

I just got this one 500 miles ago cuz there was a nail in my last one. There goes another 150 bucks.

Oh, and not to change your thread too much, i am 6 foot, and dont think it is too bad. I recently bought a throttle lock to stretch out everynow and then, it works great.

 

ive used it for the past 7 years many times never leaks , and i still rip it up at 150 mph like a new tire.

Acttually those mushroom plugs in that kit at the only way to go IMO...they hold up great and last for the life of the tread. (at least it did on my near new M1 Sportecs)

Do you live near Manchester, CT? There is a Cycle Gear there. They used to have a road hazard warranty available with a tubeless tire purchase. It is 10% of the tire's original cost. So for $15 you could have purchased a warranty for your $150 tire and they would have replaced it for free or given you credit towards another tire.

The warranty is prorated. They measure the depth of the tread, so even if you only have 25% of the tread left you will still get 25% credit towards a new one.

That has saved me money on several tires.

I hated installing the rear wheel today in 90 degrees and nothing went right. I hate my R1 when that happens.

There isn't much more wind protection on the FZ1 either. :hellobye

 

After a long ride, I don't get a lot of enjoyment if I get stuck in stop and go traffic as my wrists start to carry a lot of my weight since my legs/back/stock muscles are shot. I hate the way it makes me spend money that I have no business spending
