started with a "cirius" helmet back in 02 *helmet name may be spelled wrong, but its cold and om not going to the garage to check spelling on lid* : anyways, in 05-06 ? switched to a scorpion exo, well with life moving forward and higher $$ income nowadays it new lid time again. My local dealer has several ARAI RX7 models left over from a 06-07 they are all race replica's and are priced from $649.00 to $779.00 the one that fits me well of course the the $779.00 RX7. i have tried several other lids on by other manufacturers, the suomy fit very well and was priced around $350. MY question is does anyone have any complaints with the ARAI'S ? i was offered a dirt cheap discount on the ARAI, but before i shell out the bucks does anyone else have opinions ?
p.s. time is short, so i didnt have time to research the site for similar threads, sorry if this is a repeat topic.

OTIS.

Arai makes a good lid.

Shoei is good as well. Depending on if you have a round head or oval, or whatever the fit might be better. From my experience round and Shoei go well. Oval and Arai are good.

Hell I use an Icon Domain right now. All a matter of feel and looks.

There are a few brands I and others would not recommend
but most if not all would recommend Arai.

I wear a Shoei and an Arai Corsair. the only complaint I have about the Arai is the air flow when it's chilly out. It vents so well that the air just makes my head feel like it's in a freezer. Other than that it's great, especially for the warmer days.

well, thanks for the input, i havent tried on a shoei in a long time, probably should before i lay down the green. i think i fall into the round head catagory.

Those prices for a 1-2 year old helmet seem high to me. I've had my hands on some replicas made in 06 that were less than 600.00 and a couple less than 550.00.

I've had Arai RX7s for 6 or 7 years now and have never had a complaint but now I am in the market again.
I tried the Suomy and Shark RSR-2 helmets and really like the fit and finish. My next helmet will probably be one of these instead of another Arai as their construction is more in line with European standards and as far as race helmets are concerned they are a little better constructed.

Arai RX7 Corsair - pricey, but you get what you pay for. I look at it this way...what's your head worth to you? I don't skimp on my helmets. And for my noggin, my Arai is by far the best fitting helmet that I have owned. For the record, I've also owned HJC, AGV, and Shoei's. Like my Arai best of all. Lastly, I would probably replace my lid at least every 5 years...that's probably been covered in another thread so I won't hijack this one, but search it if you need to know why.

Thanks bud, i had to ask the question becouse nobody i know has a arai, everyone in this neck of the woods has Soumy or scorpion lids.. so i needed opinions on the RX7.
, ive dropped close to 2k this year already on new gear *Alpinestar leathers, SIDI boots,ARAI lid. Couldnt possably agree with you more about your head.. i preach it to all the local rookies.***NOTHING WIZZES ME OFF MORE THAN FLIP FLOPS AND BANDANNAS*** I only started the thread becouse ive been semi-broke most of my riding life and didnt have the budget for the high end gear, and had to settle for budget minded equipment, ! now that im better off , i am treating myself to better equipment i wanted opinions. I already new about the five year rule, personnaly i prefer to replace every 3 years. as i tend to break in a lid and they seem loose after several seasons. THANKS for your input !
