Bad stuff at Fast By Ferracci

I recently removed a Micron slip on system for a full comp termi sytem. I had the bike dyno tunned by ferracci motor sports with the micron on it about six mounths ago. I have a list of other mods but thats besides the point. Any way the bikes base numbers were 162hp and after tunning 171hp. Im happy with that. As i said above I dumped the exup and went with a full termi system. So back to Ferracci. I didnt have time to put new plugs in the bike before I dropped the bike off so I asked the service manager if the price wont be crazy go ahead and put them in. ( I reminded him that my smog pumps are gone so it makes doing the plugs a breeze)

I get a call today and they say your bike is done and we got another 13hp out of it. I wasnt expecting that at all so I said what was were the numbers he said the base was 150 and it is at 163 now. I said that doesnt seem correct I lost 21hp from switching exhaust. His comment was your right come on up and will talk to Mr Ferracci to explain.

I go up to the shop and pay him 460 bucks ( mistake) and he says Ill pull your bike out and get Mr. Ferracci. I start my bike and it sound like a Harley I get on it and ride it in the lot and it is missing bad. Mr Ferracci comes over and I say I think one of your boys crossed a plug wire or crimped my fuel line reinstalling my tank. He says no way that bike is loosing compression in a cylinder from bad valve. I am a very calm guy and now I am in a full out argument Eldardo Ferracci. It ended with him telling me he will pull my tank of tomorrow and see what is going on. I am in a bad spot because I want to take my bike home and fix it myself but then it will need to be retunned since they tunned it while it wasnt running right.

During are argumnent his mechanics that look like they are all 12 years old are giggling like girls. It took all of my strength not to go over and beat the piss out of them but then I would never get this resolved.

By the way the bike was running perfect when I drove it there

Just to update. They called me tonight and said they re-sinked my throttle bodies and it is running perfect. I went up and it is still not running right. I drove it home because I am getting know where with Ferracci's. The bike feels like it not getting enough fuel.It pulls hard and then falls on its face and at idle it sounds like a two cylinder. Im going to check pressure and pull the plugs out to check them over. Im not sure what im going to do but I would not reccomend anyone bring there bike to Fast By Ferracci for anything.

I'm not gonna lie. I've never cared for their business. I literally have heard zero good stories about them. Not to mention their AMA racing team they put together looked like a bunch of shyt.

Glad to see Matt Lynn got outta there and is on a decent ride this year.

I got my bike dynoed there in 06 and it turned out great. I do all the other work myself. something went wrong and they are covering their assess. Get the proglem rectified. I will not have to go thier again.:secret:

the sad thing is at one time they had great guys their. I had the oppurtunity to work with one. Also the Dyno guy their was great with my bike. It makes me think more and more about getting a motty or bazzazz box so I can self tune for the road.:secret:

That's the best way to go i think,I really like the motty and Bazzaz idea better than the PC, i am not even putting a PC on this bike because they charge an arm and a leg for tuning, fudge the dyno results, and i feel no difference that justifies the cost.....and their are no good tuners around my area....I had one on my other bikes, last of which was an 06 gixxer 1000, and my friend custom mapped it for me, gained about 2 more HP with a custom map in the midrange, and .000001 on top:lol..but that was with a Yosh japan slip on

Unless you have a full system and/or aftermarket air filter, then a custom map or some sort of AFR tuner is needed...for now, the bike makes plenty power with the Akrapovic Y pipe and GYTR slip ons with o2 sensor..and seems to run perfect and responsive too...
I would like to dyno just to get a baseline, but not too important right now...:fork

If you are ever out in Berks county, a little shop called Sport Cycle Suzuki in Leesport, PA has a guy Brandon that does their tuning and he is really, really good at a very reasonable price. Something to think about. He is quickly building a reputation that is crossing state lines.

Thanks for all of the comments guys.... Today I pulled the tank off and poked around at a couple things with no luck. I went down to Yamaha city in Philly and talked to the service manager who has helped me out with my last r1 and he convinced me to bring it down to him. I am dropping it off sat. morning. I called farracci and told them what I am doing and that once I figure out the problem I will be up for my 400 bucks back because they should of never dyno tunned the bike if it was not running right and I still think they did somthing wrong installing my plugs. He said he will talk to Mr. Ferracci and to keep him posted. Its not about the money it is just I cant get over how bad I was treated. I know my bike isnt a mv agusta or a ducati but I have well over twenty grand in my bike not including the price of the bike and that grease ball treated my like a jerk off.

Im sorry to go on and on but I am just so pissed off

ps Im all italian so I can make that gease ball comment

Keeps getting better. Yamaha city just called and it has very low compression in cyclinder one and two. The manager said he has never seen this happen to a r1 engine and something had to go wrong on the dyno at ferracci and they are not telling me the entire story. Also I changed the oil before this all happened and put 3 quarts in like I always do and Yamaha city drained 4 and a half quarts out. To add to the mess my fuel line wasnt all the way on the tank and the bike was missing bolts all over.

4.5 quarts my car holds that amount. it looks like they tried to cover something up. If they have to much oil I think not sure but it could do something to the piston rings not sure. It looks like the rings have gone south and that may be the cause of the lost compression. I will never be going to ferraccii again I can tell you that. Keepus posted.:secret:
