hope everyone is having a safe and happy holiday! quick question for my fellow riders. i've got an 08 r1 and i'm itching to add "stuff" to it. got CRG levers and gel seat on the way. been reading the post's on bar ends and their effect on vibration. but no one mentions what weight works. i imagine the heavier the better, right? I'd like to know what everyone is using and seems like this Earache guy has a pretty popular product. i personally like the motovationusa.com products. not to flashy in the black. but the heaviest is 220 gms which equates to about 7.7 ounces. help please!:)

3 best 'weighted' bar-ends...

1. MotovationUSA - as said above...

2. ManicSalamander - http://www.manicsalamander.com/bar_end_weight.htm

3. Custom - I had these machined, Yamaha MT-01 bar-ends. Matches the light silver on Liquid silver bikes almost perfectly...
Didnt weigh them, but I bet they weigh about 1lb (454gr) each... :fact I think I'm gonna paint em' black though...

My vote goes for motovation as well - running them on my 02 R1 and they do make a difference.

Has anyone weighed the greggs customs bar ends? I'd be curious what they weigh compared to the motovations..........

that sounds about right to me, the greggs bar ends definately look alot smaller than the motovations

my '01 seems to be vibrate quite a bit compared to other bikes ive ridden, I think im gonna go with the motovations, thanks for the info

One last note, anyone who wants to try an even heavier barend weight than whats listed above check out Hudson Valley Motorsports (http://www.hvmp.com/yamaha.htm their bar ends weigh either 11.6oz (330 grams) or 15.5oz (440 grams). Theyre priced right there with everyone else but they only come in stainless steel finish. If I end up getting these Ill let everyone know how they work.

I went with RGs just because they stood out in the looks dept. to me..
Their clutch and alt. sliders look fabulous too!
I don't think theirs are anywhere near the heaviest though- the ones on my DRZ SM weigh more (generic ones I turned down to fit- but the 400 single can use the weight).
