in order for me to get it started i have to have the throttle wide open as im pressing the start button and as soon as i let off the throttle it cuts off. and itll on do that afew times before it wont turn over at all and then it jus makes the clicking noise asa if the battery is dead

I would still borrow a trickle charger leave it on overnight and try again.

When you put in your smog plates did you reconnect the rectifier/regulator located at the lower/front of the airbox? The reason I asked is because when I did my smog plates, I didn't fully "seat" the harness to the rectifier/regulator. If the rectifier/regulator isn't plugged in the bike will just operate on battery power alone and that won't get you very far.

Trouble Codes?

at the lower front of the airbox? i only saw 1 plug comin from the airbox and that was at the rear of it but i will double check that. thanks. someone else had mentioned somethinig about it being the rectifier or stator.

Yup, once you take the airbox cover off you will see a "compartment" at the front of the airbox. In this "compartment" will be a rectifier/regulator (looks like a silver flatish metal finned box). Make sure the harness going to the rectifier/regulator is connected/seated properly.

You'll still probably need to charge your battery since you said the bike won't even turn over after a couple attemps.

there is an error code, its error code 14. i callled the shop they said it was about a clogged something and that it would keep my bike from starting. i also kchecked the rectifier and it was good. i even put my battery in my other and it started right up. so its neither of those two things. i think ima jus take my smog block offs back off ansd then see what happens,
