Hey is it possible to fit 2009 to 2014 engine on a 2006 model r1? Has it ever been done before?

Might be easier to drop in an 07,08 four valver in there. That's what I would do.
Please, explain to me how that's any different than trying to shoe horn a cross plane into an '06?

Is it possible? With enough money one can do a lot of stupid things. Is it something you should do? I can think of better ways to spend that kind of cash.

Examples,

1 week in vegas with hookers and drugs.

2 semesters of college.

A trip to the edge of space in a mig 29.

A down payment on a $230,000 house (depending on your credit).

Start a business.

Buy 2 or maybe even 3 r1's.

If that motor transplant didn’t work out I’d be interested in buying the motor? Also do you have any other parts from the donor bike that the motor came out of , frame or any of the trim around the tank , etc..? Here’s my project R1 that I want to have ready for next season. It doesn’t hurt to have spare parts you never know what might come up. Thanks Rich

This bike is a BEAST even with the shopping list of maintenance it needs it rides great! The person I got it from did a ton of upgrades, I’m sure you can see some.lt only has 9K on it and needs routine maintenance (like every normal wear item) previous owner was lazy. I’ve seen some the same year and older for sale 20-30K+ for a lot of money ! TBH before I’d spend $12-$15 grand plus with even 15,000 miles I’d rather buy new, I already have a 22 Harley Steet Glide Special and my son does too it’s time for a rocket, but for 900 lbs + or - my son ,me and a couple of his friends rip it up pretty good in the mountains of NH. The first picture is my son and me on the Kangamangus highway two weeks after I got the bike and not riding for 30yrs since 81 on a Yamaha XS 1100. Can’t wait for the R1 to be safe to put it through it’s paces. From what I understand with the R1’s it really doesn’t matter what year it is! Hopefully my body at 60 will be able to take it if not I can switch off to my sons GSX750 I doubt he’ll mind. If you know anybody with a lightly totaled R1 2010-14 send them my way.
Thanks Be Safe maximillionR198. Rich
