I know you meant 220, it's actually 224 I think but anyway there are many people on here that have. Do a search for "fan switch mod" in the "Appearance and Mods" section. Plenty of info and "how-to" there and you can do it without having to buy the ebay kit.

get a switch remove left side fairing. find a white connector near the radiator. use T connector and connect an extra wire into green/yellow wire run to switch. run another wire to a ground (i use the one behind the gauge cluster) and your set. sounds iffy cause your tapping into an important wire. but its not that hard. plus run a search and theres a thread that goes into more detail

im running water with hyper lube super coolant, and the fan switch, my bike run at 163 while riding around town at 80-90F, at stop the bike goes up to 170-175. before it was running high.

 

I've got the fan switch but my fans only cool the bike down while I'm moving. If I leave them on while stopped then the bike heats up like normal.

 

Get an external oil cooler adapter and put you're fans on a switch.

 

I did the fan switch mod about a month ago, works very well! I flip on the fans when it gets near 200F and then it comes down pretty quickly.

 

I thought i had everything hooked up right, but it comes on for a couple seconds and goes off, then back on, and off....

 

so It just kicks on and off every couple seconds, help!

 

I only have one plug going into the radiator, i tapped into one wire there, and the wire going to the fan , going to a 2 pole 15a. switch, grounded, it comes on and off, and temp gauge is reading really high even though its cold.

Schematic shows green/yellow :fact What color is on your bike?

 

It was really simple, sometimes I read directions and make it more difficult than what it is, lol...

#67 is cooling fan relay, #68 is cooling fan. You just use a switch to throw a ground on the green/yellow.

you must be jumping the B+ on the relay.......
