On a side note: I might be buying a toggle switch to turn it on/off on the fly so I dont have to keep unscrewing my seat to turn it on/off. This extra 50hp should allow me to do 6th gear sitdowns!!

No the 98-01s are the smae setup as the 02-03 when it comes to PRM activation. But I dont think you get an entire 50hp...somewhere around 37.

I can only assume that this is NOT only for FI bikes. My friend has a 99 and has activated this as well. He only kept it plugged in for short time because his motor is high in KMS and it was apparently too much stress on the motor. After spinning 3 seperate muffler bearings, he said screw it and put it back to stock.

 

I thought there was a recall on the 99.

 

pjb, be careful with the Pro Racer Mode. I had a friend die on his '02 when he engaged Pro Racer. I swear his bike took flight and plowed him straight into a tree.

The factory teams have it enabled. This is something that is part of all R1's the factory dont want us to know about. The bike is an animal once it has been activated. :secret:

Select start is only if you wanna hook a brotha up as well...

 

I personally feel that it would a liability to unleash this ground breaking HP gain on the general R1 public. You should do the right thing and just PM all the info, instructions and pics to me.
