DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANOTHER COMPANY THAT SELLS FLUSHMOUNTS FOR THE 04 R1? THE GREGGS ARE OK BUT MY PROBLEM WITH THEM IS THAT I WOULD RATHER HAVE THEM IN A CLEAR LENS THEN IN AMBER. ALSO, THE SILVER DOESN'T MATCH TO GOOD. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

THANKS,
GIOVANNI:fork

Anyone who has had a suzuki GSX-R knows about Watsen Design's LED signals. They are simply the best of the best in quality and craftsmanship. Roger is great to work with and reasonable in price. I spoke to him recently. He has plans for the future to release some signals for 04 R1. He has already made a template, he just has to do some more planning then manufacture some. They run about $90 US btw.

No reason to contact now, I did just recently. Try in 1 month and he may have them ready. It usually takes a few weeks to manufacture, then painting, etc. Right now he is 5 weeks behind in production for the GSX-R/CBR stuff now as it is

How about turning the running lights into LED turn sgnals and getting rid of the stock turn signals?

Sure, there are other options, but Gregg's are simply the best (in my opinion)
There aren't many riders who have them here in STL, so whenever I run into a group of riders, I ALWAYS get compliments!! I rode up to a local dealership a few weeks ago, and several people from the sales and parts department came out and just stared at my bike. I referred them to this site, but I don't know if they registered yet......

Great idea Eyespy:thumbup

Unfortunatley over her in aus,its illegal to have less then a 12inch gap between indicators which means no flushmount signals, and no rear "custom led" style either(indicators in brake light):cryin
I'll bet between the 2 running lights its more then 12 inches, probably more like 18? I don't think people will see you well w/ those though, but still, it looks nice.

To be honest, i'm trying to find a light that fits as good as the Greggs. I like that they fit flush in the hole but i don't like the amber lens. If anybody knows of a company that has these or that can make them please let me know.

Maybe if there was a big demand for the a clear lens Gregg would decide to make them. If there is anyone interested please let me know.

Thanx!

Yes, you are right, but my problem isn't the amber light its the amber lens. I think it looks horrible when a nice clean bike has a big orange spot on the side of the bike. Most cars now-a-days have clear lens with either red or amber bulbs. That is what i'm looking for.

That big orange spot from Gregg's flushmounts is not big. It's a fairly small light, and isn't very noticeable on the side of the bike when not flashing. Had them on my '02 silver R1, and they looked great, you barely noticed they were there, until you used the turn signal.

i see what your saying a clear lense would look neat.. but i think it would be hard to acchieve the right color and i think with the whole thing being orange it lights up better.. if it was clear i think it wouldnt hold the color as much...

Hi Guys,
I thought maybe I could answer some of your questions regarding the amber lense...

LED's normally have a very narrow viewing angle, in other words you can only see the light if you are looking straight at them. By using a diffused lense in our lights, we are able to achieve a 180 degree viewing angle. With this, you can see the light from the front, back, side, top etc.

We do have a clear lense version of our light in our test LAB. It gives MUCH less visibility than the amber light.

We want our products to have form and function, form being the flush fit and function being the good visibility.

I have more inquiries and concerns about visibility than I do about the clear lense.

If you don't care about the visibility, you can just buy the plugs that dont have lights in them at all.
