gix 750 better than R1? Come on...

Why do people with the gixxer 750's act like they have something to prove. Every single guy that I've met that has one thinks they have the fastest bike in the world, even though my stock R1 has more torque at 4000 rpm than the 750 has at redline. It just doesn't make any sense. I mean, sure, on the race track they are hard to beat, but in the real world they're basically an upgraded 600. The 60-80 mph roll on in 6th gear was the same as my old f4i (found in sportrider). Does anyone else agree with me??

yes and no, depends on how much power. The torque and power difference between a 750 and an R1 is alot, so on the street i easily beat a 750, even if he is a good rider. I just twist the throtle and hope for the best, lol. Now im talking in a streight line drag. Corners? Now that is all rider with these new bikes. So, who knows, all new bike go fast around corners.
But yes, i think its true about 750 riders, they always seen to think their bike are unbeatable. Thats when i love racing them and just pulling away, then they just shut up:eek:wwn3d
Corners on a track, i know ill probably get pumped by a good 750 rider, so until then, for arquement sake, R1 is faster, mwahahahaha.

like i said, for a track bike, the gixxer is amazing. but for the streets, say the highway for example, the ego of the 750 rider quickly diminishes with the twist of the R1 throttle. You don't need to be "skilled" to twist the throttle. I personally like the gixxer 750's a lot, but I just dont like the way the riders act(most, not all).

(by the way, odds are that you're a skilled rider by the time you've bought an R1, that's what years of driving 600's will do to you.)

Um...Ok...What are you basing that off of? Have you rode or raced a 750?

Let me set the record straight...

My 2006 R6 Bone ass stock as just as much HP as a 750 :) And this 750 was not stock...Full system, and PC3, my R6 doesn't even have a PC on it...

Don't believe me? Watch the on-board video here...

My 2006 R6 that has is built will eat just about any 750 out there on the track...

Period...

Since there arent any real 750 competitors out there, this is a tough comparison to make.

So in that case, how does the gixxer 750 stack up against its own little brother, and big brother?

I'm really curious to hear peoples opinions about it, because if little bikes are better, then wouldnt the 600 win, OR if bigger bikes are better, wouldnt the 1000 win. And just to add some spice, if the 750 really is the best out of all 3, then why arent the other manufacturers making 750's ???

I recently had the opportunity to ride a gixxer 750 for about an hour. All in all it's a great bike, no doubt about it.

Would I trade in my R1? No way!! The extra power (of any of the 3 main litre bikes) just gives you so much more comfort and all round power that I personally would never again ride with anything but a litre bike (that means an R1, obviously...:) )

As for pure speed: a litre bike like the R1 should always be faster than the gixxer 750, but, as mentionned many times before: differences at this level of bikes are that small that rider capabilities will be more important than pure hp/torque and this is the same in any circumstances (launches, twisties, track,..) except top speed.

My buddy just bought an 04' gixxer 750, and after all the hype and good reviews and mindless chattering I was expecting it to be the best bike out there, but there just is no replacement for displacement. I can't get over the amount of torque on the earlier model R1's. Although, I hate to admit it, but one of my co-workers has an 02 gixxer 1000, and it is a pure beast. Plenty of torque down low, and wheelies as easy as my bike. Everytime I get off that think I think to myself "wow...." But I will give the 750 this: It handles very well. I liked how it carried itself in the corners; it's as if the bike wants you to put your knee down, immediately! Good bike overall, but it's still no 1000.

I bet those new R6's have some balls, even though they redline at...what...17,000 rpm? or something like that? it's incredible...Any of our bikes in a straight line will be nuts, but when I say something like "real world driving", I'm talking about torque. When you're on the track, you are without a doubt always in the rpm's. On the streets, do I cruise around at 8,000 rpm? no, but since I bought this R1, I don't have to downshift 3 times to get the thing moving, like I would on a bike of lesser displacement(gixxer 750, for example). that's all I'm saying by "real world driving".

Just watched that video, looks like the R6 keeps up just fine in the corners, but then gets smoked on the straights. Good video though.

i dont know maybe i am not looking at this the same way. 600s i feel handle the best (easier to flick around), just easier to ride faster imo. of course the hp goes up with displacement, and on the 6, u can pretty much hammer down in any gear with out worries. yes a liter bike will kill it. but for alot of people the 750 is a great compromise making it an excellent all around bike.

Jesus....

The old SRAD was giving serious trouble in a straight line to the R1, while leaving it in the dust in the first corner.

The 2000 750 was faster on the 1/4 miles and top speed than any 1000 and 900 at this time (magazines, drag race stats, real world etc). Of course on a low rpm roll on, the R1 was unbeatable and more fun to ride!!

2000-2006 750 are faster than 98-03 R1.

The 06 750 is usually see as the best track weapon you can buy.

As for the 06 R6 who would beat a 750 in a straight!! :bs

I have friends with 06 R6 and some with old SRAD 750, and there no way the R6 can beat the old 750, even if the R6 rider is 45 pounds lighter!! So don't even think about beating the new generation 750, it won't happen!!!

Nothing against the R6, i'd buy one in a heart beat!!!
