did you flash it in the process? I had that problem when I flashed my ecu. Had to reflash it again and it cleared.

 

Nope, just took the signals and lighting array off, installed armor bodies upper.

 

Also, I replaced the stock rear sets without reconnecting the brake light sensor cable. Could this be the issue?

 

Did you by chance run the bike on a rear stand?

 

You will need to go into the diagnostics mode and clear all the faults. I had this same problem when I did bunch of changes at once. I don't have the process handy just now but it's out there. If I find it when I get home I'll post it up.

 

Enter Diag mode:
To erase, go to diag 62, flip the engine stop switch on the right handle off and on again, turn ignition key off.

You may have to do this for 63 as well IIRC.

Do you run a Power commander? Or has ECU been flashed. I have 2020 and I can’t get into YRC settings I have Power commander with Secondary fuel Mod and had it Dynoed however will need to get full time when ECU can be unlocked and from time to time I can’t get into YRC settings? It looks like I need dealer to reset ECU

 

I acquired a 2015 R1 a few months ago with a plan to use it as a dedicated track bike. After removing the turn signals, tail light and headlight assembly and installing Armor Bodies, I noticed that for some reason I couldn't change the ride modes, and I couldn't open the Menu function that lets you customize settings and toggle between street and track modes on the dash (before the change everything was working). I did a track day before I had time to try to figure out what was going on - the bike runs fine in the current settings, I just cant change anything. It's like the bike thinks its in motion even when it is stopped. Seems like maybe something got disconnected or reset when I was removing the lighting array.

Any thoughts as to what is causing this/how to reset things?

The reason I ask was my dyno guy spun rear wheels and that locked me out. What’s really crazy is it’s intermittent. I just set appointment with Draler to have ECU reset to stock on the Yamaha computer
