How can I make an R1 run cooler

Hi:

I'd like to make my '07 R1 run cooler. My coolant/ water is good, and both fans work. What are my options?

Is there a lower temp thermostat available?

Can the computer be reprogrammed to kick the fans on sooner?

Other?

Thanks!

gut the cat but most of the heat is coming from the clutch cover The frame is also a heat sink. A full titanium exhaust with carbon canisters will help but nope your right leg will get toasted.

Run a manual fan switch...I switch it on at 190 and it never goes above 205 Even in 105 Texas heat. Its time to replace my coolant anyways so im going all engine ICE and we will see if that helps also! The exhaust is a big thing, get aftermarket without the cat and it will help with the ass getting hot.

i recommend water wetter. i got the bike a few months ago and experienced the hot ass bike syndrome in georgia summer heat. swapped out the coolant for water wetter and distilled water and changed the oil to t6...big difference

Radiator kicks earlier with options in Flash Tune Software

Hey Mate, I bought the Flash tune Interface, Bike runs hell stronger after the reflash also you can set the radiator fan to kick at 205'F/195'F or 195'F/185'F or 185'F/175'F. And there is much more that can be done using the Interface and Software.. More need of a Power commander, Exup eliminator etc.....

Some of these things have already been mentioned but here is what I did:

First and foremost..unless you are a hippie tree-hugger, gut your cats or replace with full exhaust.

Use exhaust tape to wrap the exhaust system.

Switch to engine ice coolant...pricey but worth it.

Remove thermostat. Like I said this is just what I did and I'm sure some people will say you need the thermostat...i disagree.

It still gets warm on hot days but its not that bad anymore. :riding
