Need some pics and bike history to properly answer.

 

I attached 2 pictures. I know it has not had valves adjusted but anything else is normal maintenance. Everything else is sellers word.

 

One owner?

Older or younger person own it?

Is the seller believable?

How often was oil changed and what kind of oil was used, maybe some maintenance records.

Any signs of the bike going down.

Is the rear sprocket beat up.

ect.

Edit: Looks pretty clean. Check the KBB for the area you live in, should be close + or - $300.00

 

That many miles...I wouldn't pay over $4k myself.
I just bought my '02 with only 13,000 mles for $3,200.

 

I will see how it rides and believable he is on maintenance. I tried checking KBB but it does not let me put in miles. It shows average for all years. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong. But was hoping to find some kind of idea on good offer price from fellow members.


I did have a 02 and 03 R1 before. But not miles like this

 

no more than 4k, lots of miles, not saying its not reliable, but hits the value hard or resale. i have friends that bought 5vy 3 actually in the past year

all of which had under 10k miles with minor mods, ie exhausts, all of which i helped them purchase these for ~5k 2 over and one under.

What's up all. I found a deal of a lifetime at beginning of December that I did not hesitate on and picked up a 05 r1 Raven with 12,531 miles clean title. We settled at $2200 because he did not want it in his garage anymore sitting. He had custom painted over fairings and over summer got into accident with a car pulling out front of him and nose dived the bike. Basically all front and left side fairings and tail took the damage and it broke his shoulder and bang him up from falling on him. He started piecing together from spare bike. Here we are few weeks later and after searching everyday on internet I now have her back to stock and few missing touches will finish her off. She's a raven again

Great deal, congrats, crashing that hideous flame/ skull bodywork was the best thing that could have happend to that bike, it was time for a new owner.
