How old?

Saw this on an Ebay UK listing for a 2001 R1 with Dynomite double undertail exhaust:

"I am reluctantly selling my R1 which I have owned from new. I have not thrashed this bike or allowed anyone else to ride it. I am selling my cherished bike because I am coming up to 60 and would like to go back to bikes, like the triumph T100 (with modern reliability) , "similar" to what I used to ride."

Well I hope I wear as well as him, I am 49.

I was on a ride a couple of years ago and there was this guy who was riding a R6. Come to find out after we stopped for breakfast he was in his 70's. :scared That dude could really flog the piss out of it. He was originally from Europe. I see lot's of guys at the track who are up there in age and are having a blast. I think it's mind over matter and if your body is able then enjoy it to the max. :fact

I used to ride with a guy in West Australia called John Rova.
At that time he has had just swapped from a FZR1000 to a YZF1000 Thunder ace.
He was 73 at the time.
In my bike club he was amoungst the fastest of them all.
He used to flog most of the young guys who could not believe it when he pulled off his helmet as he looked every day of his 73 years.
What they didn't know was his past.
He used to race factory Nortons and triumphs back in the 50-60's on the Isle of Man.
Raced proffesionaly in Australia for many years.

He eventutally "Retired" after a high speed crash.
He wasn't really hurt but said that he could no longer ride at the pace he enjoyed with his eyesight failing and as far as he was concerned riding a cruiser was like sitting on a couch, comfortable & safe but boring as hell.
He knew that if he rode with the fast boys any more it would only be matter of time before he got bitten really badly.

It was sad to see him retire, but boy was he fast right up to the end.

I'm 42 and counting: I bet I can ride a wheelie safer then alot of you younger not so experienced riders on the forum.

It's not the size of the wheelie; it's what you can do with it! :fact
