It works very well, depending on how you want to use it I would suggest a MPS dry kit for your bike... We've done TONS of these kits on fuel injected bikes...

The kits are fairly complete you just need a braided line (if you don't want to put the solenoid right on the bottle), a bottle bracket and bracket to hold your nozzle..... The kit comes with 20, 30 and 40 shot nozzles..

 

Will it damage the engine? or burn the cylinders?

It won't do any damage if you use it correctly... You are able to do a dry system on a fuel injected bike because the airbox sensors can detect the need for more fuel and it will spray more fuel to compensate on it's own... but it's really only good to up to a 40 shot...

If you want a setup to go over the 40 shot you'll want one that sprays fuel and nitrous together you will need a wet nitrous system... Wet systems are 4 times the install and more expensive...

 

Im not an expert but they way I understand it, NOS in one nitrogen atom and two oxygen atoms together in a molecule. (NO2) Nitrogen is the most abundant element in the air your breathing right now. Oxygen makes up about 13% of the air your breathing right now. When you put Nitrous into your engine you greatly increase the oxygen taken in which will greatly increase the amount of fuel you will be able to burn in a single cumbustion event. More fuel will need to be used to get the extra HP. Engine damage is always possible depending on how hard you are pushing the engine.

 

What performance # are we looking at, and how hard is the install. I an better than average with working on bikes.

 

I have a wet kit on mine and you are looking at 6-8 hrs easy and on a dry kit you can say about 1 hr. The wet kit is safer but alot more detailed install. The performance numbers depend on how big do ya wanna go.

 

are we looking at a min of 10 bph or ihgher and how long does the nos last.

 

Judging from your response I'd put a 30 horsepower jet dry system on the bike and it will last as long as you hold the button and your bottle can hold...

a 2.5 bottle can handle about 5 - 1/4 mile runs if the bottle is warm...

 

btw.. the 20 , 30 amd 40 shot I reffered to above is HORSEPOWER

 

Spiderman where do/did you mount the bottle for the 04? You got any pictures? What kinda hp gain did you see on the ones you did?

 

unless you mount it vertical in the swingarm... This is the best angle for optimun performance...

depends on how far u wanna go. like spidey said a 30 dry shot would work well for u. not much install and safe on motor. depending on where u mount the nozzle and which jet is in it... will depend on how much power u make. a 30 shot depending on your motor work and pipes, pc3 , etc will make say 28 rwhp, and on a bike with some head work and pipes it might make 35 rwhp. there is no exact measurement on each bike. on my system on dyno i set the controller to 60h.p and it actaully made 71 hp on dyno. on my 2000 r1 i had 40 shot on it and on dyno it made 38hp. trust me the 04's like nitrous. it will pull so hard and so fast, changing gears are a challenge. hope this aswers your Q.

Actually there is 21 % oxygen in the air and 79% nitrogen and about 0.4% other trace gasses.......when using nitrous the molocule breaks down at temps above 700 degrees F when the molocule breakes down it doubles the oxygen molocules providing your engine with a much more richer air............It also when atomized inside the airbox cools the temp of the airbox by several degrees making for a denser atmosphere Dense = more air......


deff.. a worthy mod for the mony spent......YES it must be installed properly you will need to retaed your timming and prolly run cooler plugs..........As with any mod the increases H.P. as well as internal engine compression pressure ....will also increase engine wear.........

 

MPS dry system has a switching box... one way your horn works and the other you got nitrous activation... You don't have to wory about accidently setting it off because you'd have to have the bottle open for it to come out anyways...

Can it be done on my scooter? It IS fuel injected btw, i know it will do damage, i'm just wondering how much. would be nice to let it go with a bang, as NO-ONE WILL F**KING BUY IT!!!!!
