If it's like my '07, it's located under the gas tank. I don't recall if I had to remove my air box to see it or not.

 

Yea I saw that it's under the tank is just don't know where to go from there

 

What are you trying to do? If you're trying to remove it, drain the coolant first. Disconnect the two hoses to the thermostat assembly, unbolt the assembly, and remove from the bike. The actual thermostat is inside of that housing/assembly so you'll have to take it apart as well.

 

What does it look like. My fans are kicking on so I think the thermostat went bad

In this picture, you're actually looking at the bottom of the thermostat housing. You should look into getting a service manual as it details the entire assembly and how to remove and inspect it.

before you do that, did you check the fan fuse?
