I joined this site a little while back for referencing perposes only. I am in the market for a litre bike now because my current bike isn't the twisty stomper it used to be. I am an active member of SVrider and been working on my bike for years. The winter I finished up the hardest modification yet. I wanted to share with you guys this because well it is nice to let it be known.

I have as 2005 sv650s with big bore and busa pistons. I had done a gsxr front end swap a year ago and the little bike would do really well in the turns almost always keeping up with a buddy on a R1 then he would toast me in the straights.

The latest project was insanely complex and never tried or thought of. I put a 2005 R1 swingarm on it. I had to cut weld and bend everything to make it work including the frame. Good news is I got 200 miles on it and it handles good. yes it is 3" longer than stock but hey I wanted to be different. For those wondering the rear wheel is the matching wheel for a 2005 gsxr 750

I ordered a carbon fiber hugger and chain guard but it hasn't arrived yet, I will be ordering a front fender as well but that is in next month's budget.

I got info on the dewalt battery here and pic of it is included.

So here are the pics.

lol, I just realized it was my first post. This site has tons of info that someone who was doing research would never need to post. I think my old riding buddy Dan is a member here, he was there when the thought process was going through my head on this then he PCS'd to OK. I went with the 05 arm because in 06 they extended by an inch.

looks good. what mustang and saturn parts? Next project....find a way to fit the new 5.0 engine into a bike haha

Putting the dash back in I broke the three tabs. Could find a match but had spare parts from my old turbo saturn in tool box and it turns out the body panel bolts were a bit bigger so I dremeled out the holes and use the saturn body panel bolts to hold dash on and then later again to hold on under tray.

I went to a junk yard looking for quick release clips for wiring and nothing was good enough and then I seen a gutted mustang and noticed the airbags had two quick release setups in 10g (or 8g not sure but thick). I used them to hook up all the LED's and wiring all over the bike. I got about 12 air bag quick connects from the mustang section of the junk yard. each fairing has 1 the swingarm has 1 the sprocket cover, the front end. Kinda amuzing if you ask me.

don't worry guys, I will end up with a R1. I been back and forth on which litre bike is for me but the aesthetics of the modern raven that catches my eye most. The bumblebee look of the cbr isn't too my liking and another twin would be over kill. In 2001 I totalled my gsxr 750 in a high side and will never buy another gsxr.

Wow, quite the project you have there! Very cool.

While it's impressive the work/time you've put into it, the end result isn't very appealing in my opinion.

I think it's time to get rid of it, and get yourself a better starting platform.

Alot of people find the more suptle mods, or even the ones you can't see, to be the most interesting.

Myself, the most intriguing vehicles are the sleepers... :fact

man don't you know the SV is a girls bike. Only gay people ride those, seriously get a real bike. No matter how many super sport parts you bolt on it's still gonna be slow with that measly 70 horsepower. Not to mention it's probably loud as hell with that straight pipe on it, all bark and no bite. gay.

Wow that's harsh. Not sure if you mean it or just trolling, but......hmmmm, nah not biting.

I like the look of your ride Dream. You've put in some hard work and it has paid off. Looks the bit and I`m sure it's a hoot to blast. :thumbup

Great source of scavenging too.
Keep it up.

that is correct the stock characteristics of the Sv suck balls. Too many of us have swapped out the rear shock to find out about the front. I went with the gsxr front end to help with that issue and went with the R6 monoblock brakes because they work well but are lighter than the gsxr ones. The honda MC and braided lines make them pop. I had to give up my braided lines int he rear because of length but 2 more pay checks and there will be another on there.

I personally know of some racers who choose the sv because of the agility it has with the right touches done.

I have received flack from the sv racers over this because the arm added unsprung weight and extended the wheel base thus loosing the flickability that makes the sv so competitive.

Like I said, I am looking for a slightly used probably rashed up litre bike to work with. I like a challenge which is why I went this route instead of doing the norm of using a VFR arm which is almost a bolt in affair.

I put some more miles on it again today and started to like the ride, year I dont think I can corner as well as before but hey it is fun still. that 180 on the rear helps much more than the 160 stock tire or the 170 pinched in the f3 wheel I had prior.
