Because they are dickheads. I got pulled over last nite on 495 because i got in front of a police officer when we had to merge over. So he throws the lights on i pull over because im thinkin he goin to give me a repair order for my tail light. He never got me on radar and i wasnt goin above 80mph but thats what the ticket says. The ticket comes out to be around $400 which is crazy because he gave me a $160 speeding ticket, $60 ticket for my tail light and a $280 for some shit i dont even know what it means. Guess thats my last time pulling over.

for the $280 ticket the ticket says - Modifying vehicle registration plate w/intent to avoid ID....... Does anyone know what that means?

Been there done that! It's amazing the stupid shit you could get a ticket for. The few times I get pulled over I always remark to them that they just missed out on a car with pounds of drugs in it or a woman getting raped while worrying about me. They normally hate that comment. I wait until after I get my citations to state that though. I figure say it after so they can't add to my tickets or worse yet beat me up! Lol

didnt cut him off just merged over because the lane was ending. Im not scared of police if your not doing anything wrong they shouldnt be able to mess with you and i wasnt doin shit wrong but **** it this is my first and last ticket on 495 because now they goin have to catch me

Let's start again

Who the F*CK gets in front of a cop when they know something is wrong with the their taillight?
Who merges atop another vehicle?

You are one of those people that think well I knew it was stupid but I figured it was no biug deal because other people do it . Then you get all pissy when you get popped. Take the ticket like a man and pay up because you obviously did something bad enough to piss the cop off .

First, I agree that cops are dicks. Before all the LEO's here jump me, there is a fine line between a police officer and a cop. A police officer understands that it is his/her duty to first serve and protect the people, you know the ones that pay his/her paychecks through taxes!, a cop thinks that the first responsibility is to enforce laws.

Second, the ticket for the plate is your own fault, most states require the license plate (registration tag) to be mounted behind the rear axle of a vehicle. If the tag is in front of the rear wheel, then it cannot be seen. I know that you can see it when you look at the bike from the back, but once you get on the bike, the suspension gets compressed and th tag can no longer be seen.

Just because you got a ticket, does not mean that it is a reason to run from the police, that is just asking for problems. Yeah you might be able to outrun them, even get away from the radio, but what happens when you are doing 150 down the interstate and someone with a #3 or #8 in the rear window comes across 3 lanes of traffic and hits you? How much is your life worth? $400?

My tags always in the storage compartment :blush

I think cops care far more worried about young guys in hotted up V8's where I'm from though.

And I rarely ride alone, cops always pick on the loan rider. If you were in a group of 10 - 20 bike you would have been fine.

Doesn't it bother any of you guys that the OP was given a ticket for "Improper tag display with intent to avoid ID"? Whether or not a tag is properly displayed is a pretty cut and dry matter, not much arguing it. How can you prove intent on this matter? Does the intent in this case even matter?

#26 ·
Because technically people who are not hiding anything will put their tag out in plain view. We all know the op was doing it for looks like the rest of us but a cop looks at like concealment rather than looks.

If you take pictures of the plate mounted in the legal correct spot or take a reciept from a shop saying they moved it to the right spot they may drop that particular ticket.. It works all the time for modified exhaust tickets here in albuquerque NM.

I got a ticket for my plates to which are located on the same location your plates are located. Here in So Cal the CHP are cracking down on bikes due to Morons running from cops & racing, It's going to get worse not smart on your behalf to run from the cops.

Yep you should've took off........ I just moved out here from LA and these F&ckers are just about as bad as CHP. On the other hand if your light was out, it was bound to get you pulled over. It doesn't make a difference if your not doing anything wrong they will still fu@k with. But if you run be ready for the consequences if you don't make it. One more thing why were you even near a damn cop when you were on your bike???

Im a MP in the army and I can tell you that cop was just being a dick. He probly had a bad experience with a guy on a bike and now takes it out on every biker he can pullover. If the lane was ending then you were doing nothing wrong in that since. Yeah your taillight is ****ed up....he coulda just said fix it. Yeah your plate is not in the factory location...so what as long as its readable there is no law(where im from....it could be different for your state). Read up on your laws and fight that shit man.

I'm an MP in the Army too. Without meeting the cop how can you say he was just being a dick? Cops are human too, we all have bad days. Do you have any idea HOW MANY jagoffs and fvcktards they have to deal with on a daily basis? It's just like dealing with your teenage children. At some point you will just get tired of dealing with their dumbshit actions and listening to their excuses. It was probably not a bad experience with 1 biker but a collection of experiences from moronic bikers on a daily basis. The police have many discretionary powers when it comes to traffic offenses and/or misdemeanors. I can guarantee you he probably made up his decision about ticketing OP within the first three minutes of the stop based on the OP's attitude. I'm not saying there aren't any LE that are dicks but for the most part if you don't ACT like a dick you won't get TREATED like a dick. :fact:hammer::hammer::hammer:
Suck it and take your lumps as LESSON LEARNED!!:crash

Yeah man, do your thang thang and run from the ho-lice. They just jealous they can't ball like us, na mean. /sarcasm.... Dude, don't be a turd, running from the police is a bad decision. Take your lumps and move on. This thread is totally gay. You know why? Cause all of this shit is in the past, and it doesn't matter anymore. LET IT GO!!!! When the time comes, you will have the opportunity to explain your actions to a judge, if you so choose. Stop living in the past.
