Hey batts not starting and don't have a batt tender. Is it safe to use a car to jump start. I read online its fine as long as you do not start the car and just use the power of the battery alone.

Any thoughts?

or is this dangerous

haaaaaa. actually ended up not having to use the car. Let it sit for about an hour when I put new exhaust on it. And then it started up.

and im happy I didn't blow up:hammer:

I've used the car (last night actually) and my buddy always used the car for his gixxer. With it running no problem. The only time I leave the car off is for smaller batteries or non 12v systems.

besides the volts theres a difference in AMPs between cars and bikes, but even if there is a difference in the amperage, as long as the car has more amps than the bike (it always will) the only thing that should really affect is how fast the starter on the bike spins, so it shoulden't be a problem especially just for a quick jump start

I'll say it again, 12 Volts is 12 Volts and the starter will only draw X amount of amps whether the battery is a motorcycle battery of a battery the size of your house. I=V/R or Current=Volts/Resistance. Put that in your electric cigarette and smoke it.
