So I'm at Autozone getting a few things and see a blue 07 R1 in the parking lot. I ask "Who's R1 is that in the parking lot", manager pipes up and says it mine.
Me: That's a nice bike what year is that 08
Mngr: 07
Me: Cool I got an 06
Mngr: ......(uncomfortable silence)
Me: Uh so you do anything to it yet?
Mngr: Yeah it's got an M1 computer in it!
Me: Oh...so what does that do
Mngr: Makes it fun in twisties and straight line
Me: Uh, cool...

I was about to start grillin him but he answered the phone so I bolted out of there knowing a conversation with him was gonna go nowhere.

I believe it, I have heard guys claim to have MotoGP bikes, not knowing really what a MotoGP bike really means.
I have even heard guys claim they have MotoGP parts in their bikes, maybe because it sounds cool, maybe because they think their bike is a MotoGP bike, but either way they are idiots.
Don't get me wrong, I know/know of people who actually own such bikes, but they are neither present or what they were when they were actually on track, bits are missing, key bits of tech that will probably never be publicly released.

i was at auto zone and the guy in there has the "new" gto. he was spouting off how fast it was and he was pushing 600hp. i started talking to him and next i know its 500hp then 450hp then if it wasent stock and with a little money he COULD be pushing 600hp. i think its from snifffing the brake cleaner!! or from standing there staring at the go fast stuff for the rice burners!!

More BS

Okay so today I'm outside taking pictures of my chain for my crazy burnt chain thread and this guy rolls up to my neighbors house. He gets out of his truck and comes up to me:
DB: That an R1?
Me: Yeah, (notice he's wearing an Autozone shirt)
DB: My buddy at work just bought one
Me: Oh yeah, hey do you work just up the street, is it the manager's blue R1.
DB: Yeah, that's Rick's
Me: That guy is full of crap. He said he had a M1 computer in it.
DB: Shit I don't doubt it, that guy can get just about anything.

So I bs'd with this guy a little bit and very quickly came to the conclusion that this guy is clueless about bikes, said he was restoring a cruiser, a Honda Rebel cause he doesn't really like sportbikes.

Turns out my neighbor used to work up there and that's why that guy showed up at his house. What a coincidence!

He obviously doesn't understand that motogp regs say no motogp bike can have ANY production parts on them. I.e. an ecu from a motogp bike will Never be sold. They destroy most of that stuff.
