Motomummy: Poor Customer Service!

I recently ordered 2 ASV levers for my 09 R1 from Motomummy. Within a few days, they arrived. If both had been in pristine condition, I would only be praising Motomummy. Unfortunately, 1 lever's red adjuster was poorly anodized; the underlying aluminum (i.e. silver) was poking through in multiple spots. So, I Email Motomummy and ask them to either have UPS pick it up and send me a replacement, or just send me a new adjuster. This is standard operating procedure for reputable businesses. They reply that what I identified was "normal". Really?! Not exactly a glowing endorsement on their behalf for ASV levers! Anyway, I reply that if that's so, how come the other lever's adjuster is perfect. They then reply that I'm looking at it too closely, or that I'm perfectionistic and have unrealistically high expectations. They recommend I return both levers for "inspection". My take was that since they couldn't get me to accept a flawed part, they're going to give me the run around. So, I contact the warranty department directly at ASV, and they are quite unhappy with how Motomummy has handled this matter but they were not surprised. Apparently, I am not the only one who has been treated in this fashion. ASV has UPS pick up the lever the next day, and my new lever has been shipped. In the interim, I send an Email to Motomummy outlining what ASV has said and done, and that I will be posting a pointed review of them on our forum. A barage of phone calls follow from Motomummy and then the sales department at ASV. So here's how I grade Motomummy for my first and last transaction: Ease of ordering via website: A; Price: A; Delivery time: A; Customer Service: F

It is my hope that by posting this review Motomummy will re-think and change some of their business practices.

Respectfully,

DrJ

Wow. That's pretty shocking to hear. I've never had any bad transactions with them. If fact I usually got better than advertized prices too.

i had a bad experience with motomummy too and almost cost me a trackday out of it. just like your situation it wasnt exactly their fault, but they could have been a better vendor. prior to that i've had multiple good transactions.

Bummer for your bad experience. Motomummy is actually my online retailer of choice. I have never had any issues with them, HOWEVER, I have a lot of anodized product on my bike and it seems anodizing is not a perfected art yet. For example, I had a nice red Vortex gas cap from MM....lost at track. The next one I ordered from them was more pinkish. Fugly. I thought about calling Corey, but it's not their fault.

ive had nothing but good experiences with motomummy...recently ordered a 520 chain kit & sprockets from them. Somehow the front sprocket was not shipped, emailed them and they shipped me a brand new one out the very next day. no hassle at all!

I thought I was the only one that has had a less than favorable experience regarding customer service at motomummy - I elected not to post up details about such since they're a forum sponsor.

i've spent just under 3000 bucks there, my only problem was on the last order the steering damper took almost 3 months to get here.. But since its winter, I don't really care. They've always been very helpful when I contact them. Also, free shipping to alaska, can't beat that.

i wanted to order a did erv3 chain from them, and asked if i could order 2 spare master links with the chain order. they said no, so i ordered elsewhere (ebay) and it was cheaper anyway.:crash

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've ordered numerous parts from MM and have never had a problem. In fact, they've went above and beyond what they should have a time or two. Coreys good people if you ask me.

I've always found that it's how the situation/problem is approached by the customer that seems to make the difference in how the issue is resolved. Call with a problem, have no attitude about it, be cool about it, and 99% of the time a vendor will work with you.

Wow Dr. J, I'm sorry to hear about the bad experience with MM... I ordered a set of Pazzo levers from them and they arrived in perfect condition (not to mention quickly), so I've never had to deal with the CS department. Hope you're taken care of and can't wait to see the finished bike. I saw you already got your Akra's in your STLAR thread. Be sure to post up some pics soon.

Motomummy was actually great help, with great customer service.
Must have speant over a grand if not close..

Even once they allowed me to swap out a B/O'd item from my order for Store Credit.
With just one simple call when they could have had me waiting for weeks stuck for a part that I didnt want Nor need aymore.

Thanx again Corey..

:fire Same here....MM included (on a ASV lever as well). I simply have no patience for business's with bad customer service,..and even less when you're willing to let them make it right, but instead they tell you too bad, its not their fault, or they screw you a 2nd time :nforc::rant
