My 2011 R1 w/ Some Custom Stuffs

After searching for which exhaust I wanted for my R1, I decided to just build my own. Custom header back exhaust, 2.5" SS, I built the mufflers as well using a combo of materials and overall came out perfect, IMO.

Enjoy!

Nice work, might want to watch out for melting plastic though, especially in the summer heat you will see there.

Thank you everyone for your comments, many more than I was expecting, appreciate the love!

I'm on it, I have a roll of the DEI gold heat foil used on the Mclaren, if any of the plastic starts to show issues I will wrap the underside of the bike in it. Wanted to try without it first. It has a good amount of clearance to the plastics, only part close is the mounting point of the cans. Time will tell!

Yes, a sound clip. I'm curious as to how much sound deadening material (if any) is in the cans...must be loud as shit!
There is steel wool and fiberglass insulation packing inside both cans. Only so much of it as the ID is 2.5" and outside 4" but they definitely make a difference vs. open pipe. It's actually loudest at cold start and idle, at cruise or on throttle it's not any louder than than a non catted piped bike of any sort. Don't get me wrong, it's far from quiet, but it's not too much for my liking!

Good job on that homemade full system! Props of the weld job and nice even fit !!
Sound byte !!!!!!!!!!
I did fab it at my house but I do fabrication, mainly forced induction setups on European cars, for a living. I cheated a little if you're thinking I'm just a DIY'er :)

They look pretty good. Fantastic work on the welds:fact

I'd like a sneak peek of your custom header :boobies
I have no idea what you're talking about :p

I love talented people...lol good work nice and clean!
haha yes, thankfully I am one of them in the fab department. This setup was cake compared to my norm, just pipe work outside of making the mufflers, this was the first time I attempted that!

That's bad ass. :fact But you know if you'd used titanium I'd recommend you for a Nobel Prize or some shit. :lol
Never tig'd titanium before, don't have the proper gas or a chamber to weld it in. Haven't had a customer request for it before or I'd have the setup and probably would have done it. SS is good for now =D

Nice cans and great camera work.
Thanks! Another hobby of mine is photography, you're reminding me I have too many! :lol

beautiful work!

how much would you sell or make another one like that for?

Need Video!!!!
Don't intend to duplicate it, sorry.

I think that BARE look, showing all the welds etc is such an awesome look, especially when it's nicely done such as this! Very sexy!!!
Thank you! I agree, all the fab work I do I typically like to leave raw, unless someone is deadset on powdercoat or some other type of finish.

Thanks again everyone for your comments, I'll get some video of the bike this week or over the weekend, stay tuned!

Whaaat???¿¿¿

No sound clip yet...... The missing part to the masterpiece .. Ur slipping bro
Not slipping, just been busy as shit :)

Pipes Look great & Nice pics..

They really fit the Bike quite nice, :corn for soundclip.. ( idle Rev and a Pass by if you can)

Also stick around more and share some of your other Fab projects. I know there would be a bunch of people here interested To see some cool project work completed w fine photography. :fact
Thanks! What other types of fab would you like to see? I do a bunch of it!

Here's some rear end work I just did on my M-Roadster

Turbo 330 I'm just finishing up for a customer

Ti would be a thing of beauty. Seriously admire your skill. Looking at it over and over and the symmetry looks damn good. You cut/bent/welded this all by hand?? Very cool to see something unique by the way!!!
Thank you! I haven't been welding all that long (about 5yrs now) compared to others out there but I've surely built enough stuff to know my way around. I am extremely anal about how I build things, I have customers that send me cars from all over the US for my turbo setups, I'm far from cheap either. For those that are willing to pay for the extra detail, I'm happy to show what I can do :) For my own stuff, there really is no limit, when I get the bug to build something I do, and to the absolute best of my abilities!

2nd video I've attempted with the gopro, shit takes way too much time to edit, I miss my old school camera :( Nothing special, just a little bit of everything you'd want to hear, enjoy!
