I'm going through my '06 R1 harness labeling everything for my project and found a 3-wire connector that the service manual calls an "Option Switch". It's located in the headlight sub-harness. Anyone know what this does? I'm guessing its for a Euro model, or maybe something the service guys can plug into? Right now it's plugged, but I was wondering if I could hook a switch to it and get some options :fact

I'm guessing that since it's in the headlight sub-harness, it might be for the corner lights in the headlights maybe? Weren't they standard on Euro models?
The headlight harness has already has two plug in it for the "auxiliary lights" which I took to mean the corner lights, so that's not it.
In the wiring diagram, the options switch shows that it can ground either the yellow or green wires that go into the cluster. What if the option switch gives you the ability to operate the "select" and "reset" buttons with an external switch?

I have an 06 and that plug is not on my harness. However I bought an 04 harness off of this site and it does have it. Check the 04 wiring diagram and see what it says.
I'll check on my 06 r1 LE.. I was going through the wiring diagram and seen this... the black and white grounds to the ecu
