Well, My bike is naked right now, and its cold. So wont be riding for a while and i have decieded to customize the 01 r1.... New paint and powder coating the frame.

This is my first time doing this so i need all the help i can get.

Dont you have to drop the motor, remove the forks and all that??? It would be nice if someone could break it down in steps and post some pictures up.

I work at a body shop so thats why im doing the work myslef.

Help out.

Jeff, make sure that you label all the parts and their location to ease the fitment process once the powdercoating is complete. I used zip-loc bags for the various assortment of nuts and bolts - helped heaps in preventing a mix-up

Also, now's the best time to chrome or galvanise all the nuts and bolts as this will freshen the look of the entire bike. Better still you could get the stainless or titanium bolt sets from racebolts.com
