No, it won't break

 

I have done it a couple of times, you just use it as a pivot point so the forces are not that great on it, you only pull it over till the back wheel lifts.

I don't know the exact limits but I have never heard of a stand breaking.

I do it daily and if a stand were to break it would be mine!

 

It's a funny thing coz its rarely ever necessary, but once you get used to it you always do it. Reason i know its unnecessary is because I always do it on the r1, but on the 250 (on which the stand is loose and collapses when I do it) I never have a need to do it, go figure.

 

i've seen the stand break. and on the r1, the stand is even flimsier than most.

you gotta ask yourself one thing, "do you want to risk it breaking and dropping the bike or are you really that lazy?"

 

I do it quite often and never had a problem.

 

I'm lazy I guess and I always spin the bike in a parking spot, or out of the gas station when its all blocked in front of me... plus it looks pretty neat for all those 18 year old hoes!

 

Do it when i have to as the 02/03 stand is a little flimsy at best!

 

My friends have been doing it for years and never had any issues. I myself only do it when necessary........

 

i do it all the time and never thought it would break but my my buddy has an 08 and he did it and it snapped right at the bottom. so it can break. i seen it!

 

i've been doing it daily almost every stop for two years and never knew it could brake until a couple days ago. I've never had any problems. Its the kool factor and plus i hate backing up or pushing my bike backwards like a noob. Or maybe i'm just lazy, but the girls like it.

I do it all the time too. Never even heard any of them breaking,'till this thread. :dunno

 

my stand is wore out to begin with, so i just grab it by the swing arm and swing the rear around when i have to.

 

I guess if done correctly it wouldn't be a problem.

I used to do it all the time with my 2000, but on my 2007, for some reason, it doesn't feel right.

 

for those that have done it for years, you have the older bikes with the larger kickstands. the latest ones have flimsier ones.

use your good judgement. it doesn't work for everyone.

I do it basically everytime I go out, comes in handy I think and you def get that WTF look from people around you, worth the laugh
