Alright ya'll. I've had my 05 R1 for awhile now. It started out as a Raven, but then got bored after a couple of years. So I painted it a white and gold combo. Loved it for a couple of years. Now I'm bored again. So I'm currently turning it into a Street Fighter. I'll post pics of my progress.

Looks clean... might recommend cutting the cans down imo.

Id also put some gold mesh over the air ram ports on the frame. Just suggestions. Looks great:thumbup

paint the headlight housing white? screaming for rearsets

After several months on and off of working on it, it's finally done. I just need some rearsets, and I have to finish off the intake ducts but I'll get to that soon. I made the bottom fairing, seat cowl, and misc. bits out of fiberglass myself. Then I painted the whole thing again. I should be good again for at least the next couple of years. :)

That is so awesome I don't know what to complement first. The paint scheme is stunning, the tail looks straight like a factory job, chin looks amazing. What a beautiful job, may be one of the best transformations of an R1 to fighter I've seen. :bow

Thanks for the compliments guys. I really wanted to make an R1 Streetfighter look factory. I didn't want to go over the top with any one particular thing, just something to give the Ducati Streetfighters and Triumph Speed Triples a run for their money. I didn't notice any loss of power on street rides without the air ram tubes. I'm sure it really becomes a factor (along with aerodynamics) past 90+ mph, but I'm a much more mellow rider these days.

I still have a few more things to tie up, but then again, are you really ever finished modifying your toys?!!!:sneaky

Looks great. Is the damper still mounted in the stock position? I had to remove the stock mount because the headlight would'nt fit. This is what I came up with and it works great.

You nailed it. It looks like Yam could have made it...but they didn't. It's that clean. Totally unique. Absolutely bike of the month worthy too! Go post it!
