Hello everyone I am almost ready to upgrade from my first bike which is a cbr250r. After considering every bike around US$7000 I have come up with the top 2. 1998-2000 model R1 or 2002 Gsxr750. What do you guys think? I have never ridden anything over 250cc. They are both equal in looks but thats all I know.

thanks

P.S I live in Sydney, Australia

hmm sounds like bikes are cheaper in US. Newer R6 are US$9000+ and cbr600rr are 10+. At first I was going for a 1997 gsxr750 arond $4500 but I thought pay a little more and get a 2002 then I saw the 1998-2000 R1's:boobies.

sooo confusing. I just dont want any regrets. ohh I am an adrenaline junkie:drunk:

Weeksy you are the perfect for the questions I have:thumbup

1. Which is easier to speed on say from 0-150km/h? e.g front wheel going up, power delivery.

2. better for everyday ridding?

3. Reliability? which can handle cold morning start ups?

4. Which football team you support?:sneaky

1. R1 easy. Power is superb, it's designed for wheelies.

2. Everyday the K1 is slightly more comfy

3. Reliability, both good, the K1 uses fuel injection and the R1 carbs, both have good sides and bad. Both bikes started every time without issues for me

4. Liverpool FC.

If you're just off your Ps, I wouldn't recommend the R1. Unless you can control yourself. Try to ring it's neck like your CBR and it'll buck you hard.

lap times....NAZI and Communist political dogmas .....Andy Daniels:confused:

I am more confused than ever:dundun:

OK, so far I got that the R1 is way faster than the K1.

What about the G force? I have a feeling that the K1 being FI will somehow feel more stable when raced in a straight line.

0-100km/h or 0-60m/ph for the K1= around 3 seconds?

0-100km/h or 0-60m/ph for the R1= around 2 seconds?

K1 feels smoother due to the FI, whereas the Carb'd R1 feels more grunty :)
