I have a 2003 R1 and i am curious if it is possible to raise the rev limiter on the bike. I have put in some YEC cams and now the thing is still increasing in power at the rev limiter.

get powercommander, then buy ignition module, sign and fax form back to dynojet and they will send u software to raise rev limiter..but not recommended without working on motor first.
I have the yec springs on the bike as well. I have a PC3R that does fuel and timing. Guess i'll check with powercommander. I missed out on a yec ecu and harness cause i would lose speedo and odo, but now i wish i would have got it cause the bike pulls incredibly hard even when limiter kicks in, dyno graph shows power still rising.
I contacted power commander, they can extend the rev limiter if you have a pc3 usb not the r version i have. Figures. Shaved, your right it is there for a reason, in stock trim you aint making any more power, and second is rod bolts are likely to stretch if turned too high
Yea I don't have cams but I make my most hp of 137 at 10,771 rpms.redlines at 11,750 i think. And my most torque of 73 pounds at 7,000rpms..Unless you rebuild for it to handle it i wouldn't even mess around with the rev limiter.
Does anyone know if the 07 R1 has a rev limiter? i was racing a 08 gsxr the other day and when i looked down in top of third gear i was at 14,400 rpm so i shifted... If it does have one where does it come in at?
i have searched but cant find an answer thanks in advance!!!!!!
