Revved to redline in neutral... will this cause damage?

I asked my girlfriend to rev the motor while I listened to it... I blipped it up to 5000rpms a few times and then told her to to it the same, but being the blonde she is fuc**** twists the throttled wide open revs it up all the way and held it there for about a second.
I saw some puffs of white smoke come out the pipes around the time it hit redline (is there a limiter to prevent damage?) looked like the regular white smoke that comes out on a cold start.

Took the bike out after telling her how dumb that was, and everything seemed fine. Rolled on some 1-2 gear WOT and it pulled the front up as usual.
Maybe I'm imagining it but it seemed a little softer in the low rpm range.

What do you guys think? I'm guessing it's all good, but anything to watch for?

It's fine.

LOL!

Just an idea... sincerely tell her you're sorry for getting upset and pose her in a youtube video with her pinning the throttle (bike not running), while you make realistic rev limiter sounds?

Whatdaya think? C'mon, be honest... :hammer:

Some people say its good to hit it every now and then for some reason, something about keeping the top end clean but idk about that too much. I hit mine ever once in a while, thats what its there for to protect the engine from overrev so you wont jack up any moving engine parts

I don't think you need to be worried...take a look at this ;)

It happened during a motorcycle event in Sweden. And I was told that they just addded some water the next day and it ran perfectly for 2 more years before he sold it.
And what the guy in black sweatshirt is saying is that they don't need to do that shit (burnouts) there because of the bikes and cars behind him

Why do people do such dumb sh!t. The dude looks like such an F-tard repeatedly twisting the throttle like that. I was so happy when it started leaking anti-freeze at the end.

The guy in the youtube video is a complete tw@t :fact

The bike probably ended up on ebay shortly after!

Revving your bike to the redline occasionally will do it no harm at all. Should be done on a warm engine though, although the chief engineer at Yamaha UK held a new 09 R1 at the redline on cold for about 10 seconds and said...."That's what the engine is built for!"

The problem is it's ALWAYS 'All good' in the correct orientaiton.

I would look for signs of where she shaves. She may be a blond and you'd never know. ...and there are not to many blondes going red or brunette.
