Ya It was just like missing a gear and hitting the limiter. Happened a few times on my old cbr but I never rev it up more than 6-8k (like when taking off fast )
Just pissed me off since this engine hasn't been 'abused' lol yet and I got alomst 2000miles on it since I picket it up last november

Did you check the sumter valve? Sometimes the return spring gets damaged, you can tell if it was damaged if you start to hear a loud ticking when you are at idle.

I can assure you she does no. She jumped back when the engine screamed. And again I did not call her dumb, just tolder it was a dumb thing to rev an engine like that without a load on it.
Redline on the track/dyno is alother story.
I just do not rev my engines like that.

Next time, make sure you hit the rev limiter while you're RIDING IT.

 

Some people say its good to hit it every now and then for some reason, something about keeping the top end clean but idk about that too much. I hit mine ever once in a while, thats what its there for to protect the engine from overrev so you wont jack up any moving engine parts

 

I stay between 9-14 RPM's in second-third on the local twisties. bike has never even hiccuped.

i think your riding your bike wrong cause you should ride your bike thru all your gears shifting a 6&7 does not even breakin the bike set your shift light to 13\5 and when it goes off then shift top speed for 1st is 95mph try it you ll thank me later

Revving your bike to the redline occasionally will do it no harm at all. Should be done on a warm engine though, although the chief engineer at Yamaha UK held a new 09 R1 at the redline on cold for about 10 seconds and said...."That's what the engine is built for!"

The problem is it's ALWAYS 'All good' in the correct orientaiton.

I would look for signs of where she shaves. She may be a blond and you'd never know. ...and there are not to many blondes going red or brunette.
