I'm going to have to agree with this guy here. If you aren't competing on a national level then I don't think the extra time and money in tuning will lower your lap times. Spend the extra money on seat time at the track and you'll get more out of it than the extra 3-5 WHP.
You are correct but you missed what I was saying.

My bike was blowing clouds of black smoke and turning my white rear number plate black.

I had no choice but to get an Autotune.

I also had a lot of sluggish spots.

A flashed map performance varies from 1 bike to the next.

I know we've talked about this, but I say it hear too: I think you had an extreme case and there was something very wrong with the fuel map on your flash. Autotunes are good for correcting stuff like this.

except of course your bike will not be tuned, and longevity of said engine will suffer.. so there is that

today's forum arguments seem to waste too much time arguing about how much of a champion you want to be
and how much cash you want to keep in your pockets..

absolutely nothing about pure facts in terms of what a proper tuned sportbike should run like.. guess it doesnt really matter, apparently there's plenty of disposable cash to replace the bike in 2 years eh? lol

well the previous comment tried to scare me away from tuning my bikes (yes plural) because i'd have more $ in my
pockets collecting lint? you know cause technology is SOOOO expensive.. seriously laughable.

I say skip the middle-man and just replace the stoopid thing every other year..
on the plus side you'll look great at the race track!! :hammer:

I just think its a silly argument to not do things right by telling you its your riding that sucks LOL :gas:

Love you too buddy!

You guys are nuts lmao! My Flash was pretty good. But at around 4500-6k it would break up really bad and sound horrible. I couldn't deal with it it was so bad. The pcv and auto tune have smoothed it out but I still got some work to do in that area under like 50% throttle. Do they have a cheap option for an actual gauge that I can mount on the bike? I want to see my A/F's in real time.

I've been looking into the oversized radiators for a bit now and the absolute best bang for your buck for the 09/14 is on eBay right now brand new. Csf' s full sized triple pass radiator has all stock fittings and mounts for the 09/14 r1. Even mounts for the fans are there. $999 bucks. Mine is the 04/06 model or I would buy it in a heartbeat. Everything I've found for my r1 brand new is much more plus I would have to add fan mounts and the top right thermo bypass fitting to be set up for the street. The csf for the 09/14 is drop in and go street ready. I so wish they did one for the 04/06.
It looks like it wouldn't be to bad to convert it to fit my 04/06 I just wish I knew exactly what all would be involved. I know if I ever pick up a 09/14 I'd be buying one in a heartbeat.
