cager was a total dumb arse... after she made a complete dead stop in the middle of intersection, she proceeded to drive her car across, too late, and park like 5 car lengths ahead!!
my buddy actually made it a point to chase after her and talke to her...

at the time my shoulder didnt hurt that bad.. i was flying high on adrenalin...

i'm trying hard not to second guess myself, but i've been around for a long long time, there was absolutely nothing i could have done any better, i was only doing about 50kph... nothing.!!! and could not reach for horn in time as i was on full break stand mode, almost at an endo!!!

all has been written down, cops know what happened, she admitted to being a total moron, and not checking any side before driving into intersection, did not even stop for sign.. which as you can see, its rather far behind the drive... i could see her a mile away, unfortunately she stopped two feet short of that mile... :butt

I wouldn't say your bike is "toast". That damage isn't that bad.

from your original post I thought your bike was totaled out. but from those pics its far from it. plastics can easily be replaced. the most expensive part is going to be the tank. either replace or repaint. if I was you id take the bike to a yamaha shop tell them to give you an estimate for all parts and labor. give that to her insurance along with lost wages, dr bills etc etc. then when everything is settled go to something like Mrcycles order the parts you need for discounted prices and pocket the money you would have spent on labor fees.

yeh icbc works a bit dfferent, i did not want my bike sitting in a lot with brand new LEO VINCE 3/4 system on it... i took it straight to my old dealership!!

they will give me an estimate, and i will have a choice on how to deal with it... willl cross the river when i get there.. i do not like the idea of repainting the tank... its brand new!!

i hope for a new tank!! everything else could add up, and it could not...

A new bike should still feel well "new" not repainted and put back together after 3 weeks of ownership. really feel for ya.

glad your OK, JACK DANIELS is good at helping, but you need to get to the doctor, you could have a small brake in your collarbone.
It’s going to be close whether or not it totaled, I just had a 2007 FZ1 that got totaled it did not look like that much damage but, the cost to fix things on bikes is very expensive.
That does suck a three week old bike

i do agree with you on the value of things... very easily does a bike get binned up here in Canada.. every thing is expensive, specially on bikes...

i have velcro on it for my RADAR detector.. works flawlessly... it was for my 05 r6 originally.. fits all years after 03--4 r1 n' r6... perfect...

oh didnt realize you were in canada. thought when you said "up here" you just meant northern US haha. Not sure if you have this up there but is GAP insurance available up there? and remember if they do end up totalling the bike out make sure you grab the LEO system and any other parts you put on it. thats why I always keep my stock pieces.

 

noh i'm in BC, candada, ICBC is the only insurance corp we have, but it is mandatory!! so i'm covered, specially with officer finding her at fault 100%...

yeh if bike is totalled, i already ensured i'm getting the LEOS back!
