Should i put my bike in the liveing room ?

Im single and im thinking about putting the R1 right where my dining room table is at right now. I think it would look cool sitting up on its rear stand all winter long. But whenever i tell my idea to someone else they look at me like im insane If i do this and drain all the gas out of the tank i wont get any smells right ? The way i look at it a R1 is WAY better than a christmas tree

That would be a nice decoration. I would do the same just in case you feel bore and need to work on it. :sneaky

That would be pretty cool. It's just a fact that if someone doesn't have a bike they don't understand what the fuss is all about. On the other side I don't know if it would smell. But my friend's Dad told me not to drain the bike as it might cause rusting to occur.

Other then that you're going to get weird looks from everyone just cause you ride a bike.

holy god, look around here on the forum, you definately won't be the only one doing this. in fact, it is my reason to believe that if many of the members here were not tied to the good ole ball 'n chain, i believe we would see a lot more bikes in living rooms. do it, i'm jealous cause i wish i could. unfortunately, i have only an apartment, and i ride year round. enjoy the view:beer :boobies

i used to park mine right in the middle of the living every night in my condo in FL:yesnod

i once left it in there for a week while i did a temporary deployment, and when i came back there wasn't any smell what so ever. so im pretty sure your safe.

besides, if for some reason you do smell something, you would notice it before it became too bad i think

I would do it.

1. It is ART

2. Chicks will think its hot!

3. If you should happen to meet the "ONE", she will know, straight up, how you feel about motorcycles.

4. If she turns out not the be the "ONE", you can always use the, "...I'm working on my bike..." excuse to get out of ANY engagements with them!!

:sing: :hammer: :flex: :fact :tocoo: :jump :gengar: :scoots:

my girlfriend has never complained, even after tripping over the handle on the pitbull front stand & breaking her toe, she's incredably understanding when it comes to my bike, riding & mods :)

My buddy does that now b/c no room in his garage. Keeps it in his formal living room as you enter the house. He even works on it in there (tile floor and puts a mat down) sometimes.
Me on the other hand..I've got a two car gargage and it's all about the "1". Both of my SUV's stay outside where they belong!! You've got to prioritize my friend. :thumbup

Wish I could put my bike indoors. I'm sure my kids wouldn't mind. The wife is another story :).

One of my friends stores his bike indoors and it doesn't smell at all. Think about a bike dealership they have dozens of bikes and it doesn't smell like gas in there.

I've been thinking of making my side door, which kind of lines up with the basemet stairs, a double door, so I can get my bike in the basement for the winter.

My dad, brother and I all did our bikes last year in our finished basement. Our 2 05 R6's and my dads 01 HD heritage softail got babied. The only one that smelled was the harley go figure! We all had the tanks topped off w/fuel stabilizer and up on stands. We put plywood down so that the carpet wasnt damaged, but everything was perfect and we could work on them in the heated comfort of our home and forget a cold ass garage. I say do it! we are again in about a week or two here

I'm all for it. When it was just me and my kids many years ago I kept mine in the living room. At the time, I lived in an apartment and didn't have a garage. It was great watching TV and working on the bike on carpet. :rock:rock. Then I got remarried and did the so called normal thing and bought a house with a garage.

Living in a cold weather climate, putting the bike or bikes in the house is the way to go. My brother and I stored both of our Ducs in the finished basement. It is the best deterent against mice making your airbox their home.
