Clutch when I first bought it, Dealer fixed it and everything else has been awesome....

 

The only problem I have is removing the grin from my face when I get off of it. I have had ONE problem at all mechanical. The bike is flawless.

This is my first post, so bear with me....
For the first 2 month's after picking up my 04, the clutch seemed to stick (it wouldn't release right away) when I pulled in the lever. I spoke to the dealer and he said it might be the oil..
Long story short, many miles and oil changes later- no problems.
I've found that not only is the 04 much better all around than previous models, I haven't missed a single shift- even when hammering the bugger!

 

This bike is awesome:rock Its easily the best streetbike I've ever had. I had an '02 GSXR1000 before this and its not even close. Also I think the '04-05 versions are one of the best looking bikes ever made. It was the looks that really sold me. I looked at the ZX-10 and the GSXR and they are all so close performance wise but the R1 is so much better looking.

 

No problems ........ She is perfect !!!

 

Bike is flawless since the clutch resolved itelsf after 600 miles, and even that was no big deal since I blip the throttle on downshifts anyway. For the first year of a completely new bike, I'll take that minor inconvenience.

i sold my hayabusa for the r1 and there is no looking back.

i have had no real problems, the only thing that i happened with mine so far is my low fuel sensor was acting up. aside from that 15k or so kilometers and running strong

Sitcky clutch the first 1000 miles. Ticking, but it's not really a problem yet with 4000+ miles on it already.

None whatsoever. Flawless.

 

No problems, 5,000 trouble free miles - 'till I killed it last month,
just waiting for insurance to pay out.

Would I buy another? - You bet!:thumbup

Oh, - it did eat tires, about the same as the Busa I previously had.

No problems so far at 9000km. The only thing I don't like is the surging but I can live with that. Could have used a slipper clutch today though. I was doing my usual set of twisties and I came into a bend a bit hot. I backed it in but ran out of road and went into the gravel. Luckily I had almost pulled her up and no harm was done. Seriously a great bike.
