Poll...

For those of you with Adjustable Steering Dampners (Ohlins, Scotts, etc) at what setting do you track/race at?

On the Track, (Track Days or Racing) I run at 1 Click from full hard. On the street, I run about 4 Clicks from full hard..

60% of the Riders I race with us my approach, 30% put it in the middle and the last 10% run it a little soft...

I say hard for better tank slapper control, they say soft for better feed back thru the bars...

I have run it in the middle/soft to test and IMO I get way to much feedback thru the bars, as they transfer to much un-necessary movement up to my hands...

What do you guys think?

Don't ride track, unluckily, don't have one in the country.
Hard street riding - I'm at 3-4 clicks from the full soft setting on my Ohlins. I don't mind the feel of a front wheel "floating", the damper takes good care of stopping the headshake. I try not to let the damper cover the sloppiness of the technique, and when it's soft, it's still doing a great job of calming down the shakes, when I don't put my weight on the bars.

I run my Matris M3 about two or three clicks from full hard while on the track and about 6 or 7 clicks from full hard while riding the street!!!

Run as soft as you can get away with. Running it too hard, especially where you're riding close to 10/10ths, like at a track, could actually cause problems, because small bar movements are transferred through to the rest of the chassis via the very stiff damper.
