Has anyone found a good source for accessory power? I need to power a radar detector near the top triple clamp.

TIA! :bowrofl:

Thanks for the Users Manual reference. Has anyone actually put their grimmy mitts on said connector? I can't find it. With two fuse blocks in the area, there's no lack of +12V switched power, but finding a good ground is tough. So far, All I got is the horn bolt and that part moves with the forks so still looking...

.. and I'm pretty sure I have a source for that connector but won't know for sure until I actually find it on the bike - if it exists - Ballenger Motorsports is a good source. Yamaha probably sells one too.

While "in there", I said bye-bye to the flapper :boom The flap, actuator, solenoid, wire harness, 5 hoses, unions, connectors, screws, and vacuum reservoir. Lots of parts, but very little weight. Once the cat is gone, you need to nickel and dime your way to lower weight on this bike. And maybe those mirrors - heavy!

Found the power accessory connector! It was taped very neatly to the fabric-wrapped main wiring harness. Puuurdy.

Edit: Thanks 12v_dub for the link to the correct terminal. For those ordering, your total will be less if you actually buy two connectors.
elevens,
When you say 2 connectors, do you mean 2 male connectors(the one we actually need to make it work with the stock connection provided) or 2 sets(male & female) connectors?

Thanks,
-John
