The Yamaha USA says "For 2020, the NEW R1M and R1..."
Even today I find that hp figure way too optimistic.Power remains unchanged at a claimed 197bhp, the bike receives updated finger-follower rocker arms and new cam lobes.
I do hope that Yamaha strengthens the crankshaft.Had face lift for for the new Euro 5 emissions, No power gains either,
Its a bit disappointing to be honest
The Bimmer does look fantastic on the spec sheet...but like any 1st year bike early adopters are experiencing numerous issues...R1M 26K, S1000RR M 24K. While the bmw needed CF wheels and other stuff to get to the weight of the r1.. it now comes with CF wheels, cruise (IK just saying), and a bunch of other options for less money. And yes we don't really need more power, but that is going to get old saying that in the straight away when the BMW walks us badly. A lot of the dyno vids are showing the bmw with no tune making 190's to low 200's whp. Even after Nick does his thing we are lucky to get to the stock BMW numbers. Basically if I turn my R1 into a ball at the track its really going to be about if I have enough money to get the BMW. I can't, at this point, see a win for 2020 R1M over the BMW.
Ha, you want to see a dead moto forum, check out the fz10.org site. It can be a snoozefest. :laughing:Maybe so and I get that, but other bike forums are still pretty active This one just seems particularly dead. I subscribe to the R1 group on Facebook as well and it's no comparison to an active forum of passionate users.
Nope... remember they are electronic.Someome lmk if the new R1M forks will plug n play on my '15.
The new RR is Euro 5. Seems to go OK.EURO 5 is not going to make it a better bike, with or without a slight style change.
I would buy the current R1M now, before they take it away from you and give you this EURO 5 thing.
