Holy S@#$!!!! I thought I paid for one of the most expensive 2016 R1 here in Costa Rica!!! Our taxes are ridiculous high as well I paid $25.500 and got my first to services completely free plus 5 quarts of Premium synthetic an oil filter and a can of chain lube!

Not expensive as your country but still USD$40K for the M in Macau...
*The R1 is cost same as your price, USD$34.5K.

 

I would not own a R1if I had to pay that much for it. At least, not until i won the lottery.

You can't use it in the street if you do that; the counter part is that prices don't change with time, it can be sold at the same price in two years.

 

holy crap...! I originally was going to import my R1 from the USA but I got such a good deal here in Panama that it wasn`t worth it. I paid 17k out the door which was almost the same people were paying in the USA.

The retail here for the regular R1 is 20.5k though. I just had a good relationship with our local dealer.

On the upside I doubt insurance in the USA is cheaper than Panama... so I think my R1 in the end went cheaper than what folks pay in the US.

you are not alone.. I have a 2015 R1 Bought mine for $40500 Singapore Dollars.

 

Converts to $28,300 USD. So you're on the low end. :lol

 

Wow...I was under the impression my Norwegian neighbours - with all of their additional environmental taxes, luxury consumption taxes and other bullshite added to the price - were expensive with the base model just north of $ 30.000...

I think when converted to USD, Canadians have it good, at least they did for 2016.
