Remove the visible 1/4 turn fasteners on the Side Cowlings, there's 6 or 7 per side, some come out and some are "washered" on from the other side, and stay on, so don't force them out.
Then remove the Side Cowling Inner Panel, this is in 2 pieces split up the middle, the black panels above the front fender, there's 3 push in clips, and 4 screwdriver clips and some velcro, remove the side cowling inner panels. Also you must remove the 2 upper 1/4 turn fasteners on the Bottom Cowling Front Cover.
Now after you have the 1/4 turn fasteners removed you can begin to wiggle the Side Cowling off from the bike, rear first. The front of the cowls that go underneath the lights have a series of interlocking pats under there and you have to slide the fairing off toward the front of the bike. One the fairing clips out you can unattach the turn signal connector and the fairing is free.
If you get stuck at any point you'll just have to play with it, it took me a few times and some experimenting to be comfortable taking it off, and still sometimes I have difficulty lining up the tabs under the light. It is difficult because the ram air ducts ar on this fairing so you can easily misalign the ram
