Valve adjustment question?

I had a 93 CBR 600f2 a long time ago. When i sold it, it had around 24,000 miles. I never did a valve adjustment on it. What is the longest you can go, milage, before these bikes require one? In other words, will it just stop running one day because the vavles need adjusting or what? Curious, because my R1 just turned over 11000 miles today.:hellobye

I wouldn't be too concerned just yet steve. I believe the scheduled valve adjustment is at 16k miles. Hell, my '99 cbr 600 f4 has got 22,300 miles on it and I still haven't gotten the valve adjustment yet. And the power is still as smoothe as ever. Eventually we'll both have to have the valves tighten, but for right now, I don't think you should lose sleep over it.

26,600 miles before they should be checked. That is only one reason why I love this bike so much :yesnod .

Sure makes me glad I didn't buy a Ducati.

It is still a hell of a lot cheaper than...

having to pull the motor on a Ducati to adjust the valves. Especially if you do it every 6K miles like they recommend. Oh, did I forget to mention changing the valve drive belts that often too? It should set you back a cool $1,000 or so each time.
