So it's been three months since my lowside accident. Just got the bike back last week. Took her out over the holiday weekend to get back into the swing of things.
I didn't go out to do any fast passes, just trying to find my lines and pace.

I tried the camera facing me for the first time...eh..not crazy about it. Let me know what you guys think.

Then I met this cool guy with an 1198 who allowed me to mount my GoPro on his bike and follow me. We got held up halfway uphill by a Park Ranger, so fast forward a bit till we get to the top. On our last run coming down, we got dehydrated and stopped at the rockstore. Next time i'll edit the boring stuff out!

If I get this second bike I'm after, then yes! I don't wanna do another trackday until I have a backup bike. I can't go to the track and not push it.:sneaky
Not trying to go thru another 3 month lay over.:no

Glad to see someone with an 09 R1 ride hard through the Snake. I was out there on Memorial Day Monday from 9 to 12 on my white and red 09 r1. That will be the last time I ride on a holiday, the Snake was crawling with cops. Every other rider was tapping their helmets. On the way up the snake there was a sheriff car, I followed him slowly; at the top he pulled over and let me pass and then followed me. After about 10 seconds he pulled me over for not having plates :(

... that ruined my day off

You guys aren't gonna believe this! I Lowsided in a sweeper on local street this morn. Had to be something on the road, my tires were warm and I wasn't even going that fast thru it.*
The radiator is cracked I think. When I start the bike all the coolant spurts out:(
The rest of the damage is cosmetic to the right side. I'll post pic when I get home. I'll posting this from my Iphone. Waiting for my boy to tow me back to Jett Tuning. Arghhh I just picked it up from there last week this time!LOL WTF!!!
At least I'm ok and can laugh about it. Check you guys latah. *

Awesome Videos Man! Thanks for Sharing!!

Well, I'm sorry you crashed, but you riding like that on the street what can you expect? I am sure you didn't hit that curve doing anywhere near the speed limit. Maybe you should seriously reconsider how and why you are riding like this on the street. I am in no way trying to ridicule you as a person or your riding skills, you obviously are a good rider, but I think you are pushing it a little too hard otherwise you wouldn't be crashing.

Riding like what? Like in my videos? LOL
I wish I could ride to work at that pace!
But this was just a case of bad luck. If I was pushing it, it would have been a lot worse. Shit happens...

No I don't think this crash happened at any great rate of speed what so ever... I would be willing to bet debris on the road was a big factor. Buddy of mine crashed last year in a 10 mph corner because he was leaned over and his front tyre slipped out on a very tiny patch of gravel... patch was the size of a bigger softball lol... it sucked...

Whopazz1: Crappy luck ? You're joking right ? Luck is part of that result ? Sorry... If you ride like that with "Luck" as your survival hope. You're F'd up. "Hope" is not a good strategy.

Ady: I'd say that you are heading directly to another three months off soon (or hopefully not, worse).

If you think you are fast and care/want to flaunt your stuff and display it in public, you should find a track.

Seriously... I can direct you to the graves of my fast friends. You can take a reading on your video from there.

Save yourself now. Go back to NY.

Hey Adey,
Nice riding through Mulholland! I had to go check it out last weekend (Memorial day) and have to say that is a TIGHT little canyon to be throwing around an R1. I just got mine and not ready for that just yet..
U ride there often..cause u defineatly have to know that road or u will go down somewhere..
Willow Srpings is a great track..and they also have track days at Fontana Speedway. I just went there about a month ago and checked it out. Looks like a lot of fun! I wish I would have kept my Gixxer750 and made a track bike out of her!
That suxs to go down again..ding up ur bike and tear those tight jeans (lol)..Stay safe and stock up on parts!

yeh let these guys know the video does not do the road any justice. my best friend visited last weekend from ny, so i had him rent an 1198 from racey rentals in santa monica. he said he was silently studying my videos at home so he could surprise me by keeping up with my pace. but once he got there, reality sunk in and he realized just how difficult it is to ride this road fast. look at the two pics of him and i in the same turn. at first i was laughing at his pace, because he rides as hard as i do on the road. then i remembered i did the same when i moved here two summers ago. i wasn't as upright as he was,lol but i was looking very noobish in my first set of mulholland pics.

i hope to make the next track day at streets of willow mid june. i'll keep you guys posted.

gotta go shopping now to pick up some more skinny jeans!! LOL

Killa : Yes... I'm off. Sorry. I hate seeing < potential > accidents of talented riders.

Adey: Excellent... You're a good rider and don't need to prove your competence to your self (or to anyone else) on the street.

Be careful. Thank-you, Peace...

Very nice riding! Sorry to hear about your accident, but I'm glad you're okay.

You are definitely fast, and I can tell how you set your body up before going into the turn on the bike that it helps you maintain those lines. I can't ride like that on the street (never been to the track), but I would like to improve my lines. I've heard/read that you can lean half your ass off the seat as you roll into the turn, but that feels awkward. Most of the time I lean and drop that inside knee out, but I'm not close to dragging it. Not really looking to do so, but I'd like to try it out a bit in the parking lot first.

Can you give me some tips on how to set up the turn, body position, and lean? Thanks!

I can testify to Adey's skill in the canyons. Ive ridden with him a few times on the snake. He rides responsible and within his limits. Ive been wondering why I hadnt seen you since end of last summer when we were all chasing "the mayor". I am gonna believe Adey in that the off on the streets was one of those things that all riders face, bad timing/ chance.

90% of riders ride above and beyond the speed limits, but looking at the turn, and considering Adey barely reached the curb, I doubt he was excessively speeding.

I ended up dedicating my 1000RR to the track, and keeping my R1 as the canyon carver. Hope you can come up on a 2nd bike soon. Glad your ok bro, hope to see you at the snake or track soon.

yoooo whats up buckey! i was just talking about you to this guy i met last weekend, charles(white 1198). he's farely new, but quick on the snake. we were talking about all the fast guys on the snake. your name and the "mayor" obviously came up in the discussion.:fact

i've decided last night to dedicate the R1 to the track. so keep an eye out for me at the next motoyard trackday(hopefully june 18 SOW). once i figure out what the insurance company is gonna do. i'll make a game plan to acquire the second bike.

Sweet man! Ya I know Charles. Actually he text me that day n told me he was riding with you. Hes a really cool guy! I was actually on lock down at home cause my wife was due yesterday. I just had an off at Fontana the previous weekend before the holiday, so I figured I would take it easy until the kid is born so I have two good arms to help. Hope you get you bike situated soon. You gotta sign up for big willow or buttonwillow. Streets is basically paying $ to be on a canyon run IMO. Plus, I think that track is too small for a liter bike.

Once a get my replacement parts for my left rearset for my CBR, you can borrow my R1 if your jonzing to ride the snake and your bike isnt fixed. PM me and Ill shoot you my cell

Aye congrats on the little one!

Yeh you're right about SOW, nothing too exciting about that track. I'll check to see when motoyard is going back to big willow.
I'll know more about my bike on mon or tues. I know for a fact I have to replace the radiator. Already ordered new foot pegs and the bodywork damage is rideable with until I get the race body kit. So I should be back on the road in no time. Thanks for the option to ride your bike. I hope it doesn't come to that! See ya soon buddy!
