Well on wed. sept. 22 at 11:47am I went down for the first time. I was riding on the Southern State PWY. getting off on exit 19n doing about 45mph. I was already leaned over, when all of a sudden the front end of the bike just went out on me. I slammed in to the floor. I cound'nt get my leg out and the bike dragged me for about 40 feet till it hit the curb. I got up and thank God that I could still move... Then I look down and seen what the street does to your knee after you drag it for 40 ft. I had a leather jacket on so my arms a side from a bruise were fine. Then I noticed that my jacket was open. During the fall it had opened up and my shoulder was dragged across the floor too. I was pissed the jacket did do it's job. A couple guy's pulled over and helped me pick up my bike. Then it set in... I just crashed my bike? All I could think about was my 3 year old son. I got a lil' nervous, but then I came to my senses. I check my bike to see if it was still ridable and it was. So I got back on and rode to work:rock Then when I got to work i noticed all the blood on me. My leg was bleed and so was my shoulder and ankle. So I got back on my bike and rode 25 miles back to my house, Clean up and listen to my girl tell me " I TOLD YOU TO GET RID OF THAT BIKE!" :rant

Bummer, glad to hear your OK. Thats how quick it happens. I know people get tired of the preaching, but now you too can spread the message of how wearing the propper PPE saved your hide :fact How is the bike?

Your girlfriend should have been thankful to see that you are ok.
Going down is a part of our sport that we unfotunately have to live with sooner or later. Dust yourself off and keep riding bro :riding

Must have been something slick on the pavement... At that speed, there is no reason the front should just give out... Glad you are ok and the bike is still rideable...

Bummer man. Glad to hear you are OK. I want to know what brand that jacket was too. Did it fail on the seam? Did the leather tear or the threads holding it together?

My woman would have told me the same thing. I hear that line every time a new part arrives at the house (fortunately slipper clutches don’t look expensive).

BTW It takes a real man to jump back on the bike and go to work.

Sand in the road got me last year. I did a low side at about 25 mph
and ended up in a orange grove. Slid on my left side. I also had full
gear on and was unhurt. Bike came out pretty good with only some
scratches, broken signal, and scraped stator cover. Glad to hear you
were ok.
