what are some car oil filters that will fit the R1?

2002. SEARCHED but no luck. Tire of driving 30 mins to yamaha dealers in bz traffic. None of the local autozones and advanced carry it.

I'm using the L14610. It's a little longer than the 14612, so I figured I could benefit from the extra capacity and filter media (since I had the room). I was hesitant of using the PL gold filter from what I've read in threads. Some people think it can put too much pressure on the oil pump?? But I'm still afraid because I'm running the cheaper filter, lol. :dundun:

I've read the same thing, other than the blurb on the Purolator site there is nothing that shows that they should not be used. Some of the antiquated twins (HD) have very low pressure oil systems, (maybe because HD is typically dry sump?). From what I have read that was the reason for the warning on automotive filters in general.
I've been running PL14610 or 12's (depending on what I have laying around) for years. The only bikes I did not use them on were my Suzuki's (different thread pitch). It's the same filter I use on my 675 track bike, in my WRX and in my mom's Nissan.
