I was wondering what kind of grease I should get for the wheel bearings and so on. Should it be water proof? I don't ride in the rain often. Thanks
P.S I have vavoline syn wheel bearing grease, now.

Wheel bearing on R1's are all sealed bearings. And as such should only be replaced, not re-lubricated.

btw, get the number of the shoulder or dust seal of the bearing and go to a bearing supply house, It'll be about 1/4 to 1/3 of the price and you can get better bearings if you like.

If you remove the bearings dust seals, they are done......

The only bearing you can grease is the needle bearing in the cush-drive.
and the bearings in the headstock. personally when i changed triple clamps i used hi temp bearing grease cause the headstock/frame area there gets hot and yamaha here recommended using it also.
